I saw a Ruby Throated Hummingbird the day before yesterday when I put fresh nectar out, he must have gone and told all the other Hummies about us. I’ve been waiting, patiently, for the opportune time to photograph them, and that’d be around now (noon’ish). She seems to be getting comfortable with me near her now, I’ve been standing about 2 feet from her (behind glass) and she’s been checking me out a bit. It won’t be long before she perches for me. Have you ever seen a Hummingbird perched? They’re amazing. Here’s a photo I took last summer.

I wanted to share these illustrations today too, they’re complete and will make their proper unveiling in their new logo at their domain soon. I’ll link it all up and give you larger images at that point, but for now I had to share more art!

It’s great to be creative - and I know you guys only get to see what I can show you, ya’ll must think I walk around here with a hammer or my camera all day long by now!

Here’s the face-through-the-hole graduate that I just finished up for the PreK graduation ceremony… being held in one hour…phew! The high school shop class cut the wood, the high school art class drew the grad, I just redrew the hands and painted it in acrylics for the school (really, I did it for the kids!).

I’ll get a pic of the actual graduate tonight, I hope. The eldest couldn’t wait to get her head in there.

STUFF I GOTTA GET DONE

• 2 loads of laundry
• Call for bid on siding repairK/strike>
• Take out the trash
• Get kids off to school
• Turn up the media player, really loud.
• Finish up 3 illustrations
• Create the logo for the 3 illustrations
• Paint the graduate on the standup wood head cut-out thing for the PreK class by 6PM tonight
• Figure out the budget and pay the bills. Today.
• Add a gazillion (read: 11 of 30) new members to the TT blogroll
• Update TT to let everyone know who’s new
• Watch our little Chick graduate PreK
• Get a big bowl of ice cream

That’s what I’d like to get done today. Wish me luck, eh?

Delayed ’til tomorrow (I’m such an overachiever):

• Reply to e-mail
• Figure out dates for vacation so we can make reservations etc.
• Blogsurf
• Sketch up 3 new portraits (client just confirmed her order this weekend)
• Set up Portrait session with local client for dog portrait (I’m photographing the dog & then painting her portrait)
• Get materials to start working on giant pig project (yes I’ll show you that too)

This morning I gave the wildflower garden a good watering, and to our surprise, we got to enjoy a little Ma & Pa Cardinal fun ‘n’ frolic. I’ve never seen cardinals playing in a sprinkler before, and it gave us a good belly laugh! Pa was divebombing the sprinkler, Ma was very daintily ruffling (and giving a little shakey shake) of her tail feathers in the shower. It was quite a sight!

Mama bunny has been hanging out in our yard lately, isn’t she lovely? I’ve wondered where she might be nesting. I found out yesterday while I was mowing the lawn. I startled a baby bunny foo foo, and quickly got the mower out of his way and directed him back to his wittew bitty bunny hole. He’s so cuuuuute! Oh we were all girly about it over here, gushy over the fuzzy sweet little baby bunny! Awwwwww… now don’t you want to see him? Yes, I know you do.

We had to run for more “stuff” lastnight, and I snatched up Rascal Flatts new CD while we were out. We had a nice long drive while we listened to the full CD - watched a doe as she ate, found some new areas to venture around with tennies and my camera. One song from the album that I wanted to share is “My Wish”.

I like a lot of music in a lot of genres. I always have - but if I make mention of a song (for those of you who don’t know this about me), it’s because it really tugs on my heartstrings and I hope it does the same to you.

To everyone who stopped over yesterday, I’ll be surfing this weekend. If I started now, I would never get my house put back together. I could read Thirteens all day! Today I have to clean-up, finish some illustrations, wait for the floor guys to come (I gave up the do-it-myselfer ‘tude, I’m dog tired.), and get the furniture back in there. Once it’s all set up I’ll take pics and you can see before & afters.

People on my mind while I’m piecing together our family room this week:

1. My hubby, off at training. Me miss heem. :sniffle: I am also very nervous and excited for him to see the new room.
2. Lisa. (Mary mary, quite contrary!) Her wedding is coming up. Fast. Whose wedding is it, anyway?
3. Robin. Robin kept popping into my mind, and it could have been because they lost the house, but it could be something entirely different. I said a little prayer, just in case.
4. Lazy Daisy, because when I think of prayer, I think of Lazy Daisy.
5. YellowRose, because when I think of Lazy Daisy, now YellowRose is automatically attached, because they’re sisters, you know.
6. Paige, my best friend of 20-something years, because she’s moving this week and I wish I were working on one of her rooms instead of mine. I would rather be helping her break in her new pool pack & unpack!
7. MommaK, because she’s moving too. I am so excited about her move, it truly is a dreamy dream home! She doesn’t have a pool, though, so hm. I guess I would still rather help her by giving myself a makeover with all her cool new makeup organize her new pantry.
8. Jacque, because. She has been absolutely amazing, and she respects and protects my personal space. All that while she serves God and her incredible family.
9. My Mother-in-law, because I need to call her back. She is anxious to see the room, but I am doubly anxious to finish it before she sees it!
10. My sister, who just got hitched to this guy that’s had her chained up in the basement head over heels for a few years now. He better treat her well, and by that I mean as well as my hubby treats me, or my hubby and her hubby are gonna be washing clothes - and my hubby’s gonna punch her hubby right. in. the. nose.
11. Taba, who is also moving, and I wish I could freakin’ help all my friends move!!
12. Clara, my friend, who I need to catch up with. Soon.
13. A few people who I feel need prayers have crossed my mind a lot today, and I hope their lives are touched in a way that changes their hearts.
