completed in April, 2009

Custom bird budgie parakeet portrait pencil graphite drawing art by Leanne WildermuthSize: 5 x 7″

Medium: Graphite Pencil Drawing

Notes: Each week in 2009, I am giving away one free custom portrait to someone on my blog. The winner is selected based on how their entry inspires me.

Winner of Week #17 was Stephanie’s adorable Budgie parakeet, Pippin. Pippin passed away a little over a month ago, but while she was here, she made a huge difference in Stephanie’s life.

Read Stephanie’s story here, and view the side by side photo/drawing by clicking here.

Leanne drew this custom portrait of my precious Pippin. Many people do not appreciate the depth of relationship people can have with birds. I can tell that Leanne really does understand that bond. She did a great job capturing my little Pippin’s trusting, open personality. In this picture, I think Pippin looks like she’s smiling.
