Because I don’t think there are any eggs in mine…

I was surfing through stumbleupon for fine dining ideas to write about, my site is brand new still, and I found your recipe. I didn’t expect to find it on such a beatiful blog! I’ve only surfed a few pages so far but I have to say this was a very pleasant find. Great stuff Leanne!

Maybe there is some difference in our egg nogs? Anyway, with an egg, the cookies were a huge hit, even among people who don’t like egg nog. And don’t apologize — even without the egg, the batch I made was a huge hit with my boyfriend, so they went to a good home. 🙂

Neither you or Laura are having any luck with it – I’m not sure why?! I used the exact same recipe and got the cookies pictured above. Did you soften the butter to room temp? Use a full cup of eggnog? It should be really runny and eggy before you start adding the flour, and the consistency is like chocolate chip cookie dough (without the chips) – so something definitely went amuck. I’m so sorry!

I couldn’t finish beating them with my beater, which almost caught fire, and the cookies are all dry and crumbly when they come out of the oven. What did I do wrong??
