male house sparrow nesting birdhouse' class=

Hubby hung a birdhouse early last spring, it sat empty all year. It was a little sad, as we had hoped *somebirdy* would want to live there. Not a chance. It is pretty close to the tree and feeder, and we thought that might be the reason.

This year – it looks like we’ll have tenants! Chirp chirp! I’m excited, especially since I had a sad experience with some baby sparrows a couple of years back when we demolished our carport. (We found a nice lady who rescues wildlife and took the babies to her, last we heard a couple of them made it.)

Both mom and dad have been getting things ready in there, so we helped them out a bit by adding some nesting material in a suet feeder for them.

Meanwhile, I am also occupied. Of course. My schedule is jam packed and the spring weather and sunshine have gotten me back on my treadmill so my flabular thighs fit into my summer wardrobe. Speaking of which, I had better get movin’, shakin’ and jigglin’!

I’ve got to get back on the treadmill, too. How about if I join ya for a virtual workout? LOL

Very cool about the bird house! Hope she’ll return to it every year, as well. ( That is, If they do that sort of thing. Some birds return to the nesting site each year, others move on…etc, etc)

I’m also hard at work trying to get our bird feeders up and running again, and coaxing our backyard into shape.
Hopefully I’ll have worthwhile photos of it all soon!

    Good luck with your workout!

I am wishing I never got rid of my treadmill. They really come in handy – both for workouts and clothes hangers!!

yay for you and your tennants. Since our backyard seems to be on cattrails.com as a major highway for cats, I don’t think putting up a bird house is a good idea for us. I’m also not so happy with the way the birds attack my garden…first they dig up the seeds, then the seedlings and finally they attack my fruit…and they usually don’t keep the stolen food down…they’re just being destructive. >:(

I need to get moving too or I’ll never fit in my summer clothes. My total ban of softdrinks has not made any kind of dent in my winter pounds.

You know, I hear the housing market – even for birds – is slowing down. 🙂 They must’ve negotiated a good deal. 🙂

I’m going to try to go add you as a Facebook friend, so if you see a request from Carmen – that’s me. 🙂
