  • Photos With Santa

    December

    2005

This is what I did today, it’s a photo backdrop for the elementary school to use for Photos with Santa in a couple of days. Not only did I paint this thing – which by the way covers a good part of my studio floor at about 8 feet wide by 4 feet high – but I’ll be the photographer for the event, too.

The most important part of this backdrop, of course …

Gotta have Santa sitting in front of the North Pole! It’s just your standard backdrop, and the best part is that the school can roll it up and tuck it away from year to year instead of re-creating one on construction paper. Yay!

This should be fun – bunch a kids scared to death of a big guy in red, and me & my tripod. Heh! Told ya it was going to be a crazy week! (didn’t I?)

Good Luck!! Background looks great! I have done many of the same things for school when my lids were in grade and middle school….I remember them well! My thoughts will be with you and may God go with you! 😉 (Those school functions can be rough!) :scare:

That looks really cool! Is it done on a canvas or sheet? Just curious. Good luck with the photography part. Sounds like fun. You will do well because you are talented.

Thank you, Yellowrose!! I’m sure the morning will try my patience. I just hope they have coffee. 😉

Shelli – that is indeed canvas  I bought 3 yards – 4? Of primed rolled canvas for this project, and used acrylics so it will last a long time being rolled & unrolled every year (I hope).

MommaK – depends on who Santa is. :raspberry:

it looks shiny from the pic, i guess that’s the acrylics. it’s going to look great as a backdrop, what a great thing to do for the school.

I was so happy to be done, I didn’t wait for it to dry – that’s why it’s shiny.

:jawdrop: Wow… amazing! When I am called to ‘decorate’ it usually involves scotch tape, construction paper, and words I can’t say in front of children. I can ‘point and shoot’ photography though… have fun with THAT!

Very cool. I wanted to know what it was made of too and I found the answer from above (not meaning heaven here, meaning a comment!).
