pug pet dog portrait oil painting by Leanne Wildermuth

I’ve finally finished Pete the Pug! He’s turned out so much more lifelike than the reference photos, I’m really pleased with his painting. I’ll add his final scanned portrait to my portfolio once his mom has given her blessing and the piece has dried.

Thank you, Angie! I believe that all of the reference photos were taken with a cell phone. I work with what my client is able to give me. :beret:

and we know all about stray Pug hairs having three Pug boys leaving them all over the place. Leanne, that is lovely, you have really captured Pete the Pug beautifully :clapping:

You can almost reach out and touch his fur, he’s so lifelike. I especially love all those wrinkles and how real they appear. And I just love his nose and eyes…this rendering is amazing beautiful. Another stunningl portrait, Leanne!
