  • Rain!

    June

    2005

It has been insanely hot here. With the humidity, it’s averaged around 103 for the past few days. Phew, huh?

This morning, it RAINED! I was so excited. The squirrels were excited. Everyone is happy! Of course now it’s sunny and even more humid, but hey. We got rained on. Neener neener.

That poor baby black squirrel was so hot yesterday, he flopped over the bottom rung on the ladder of the slide and just stayed like that for a good 10-15 minutes. Kinda scared me, I thought he was a goner! It must have been a cool spot for his belly.

I’ve been dinking with a new simplified skin for my blog, and most of it is done if you want to have a look at it (the skin dropdown is under “bloggy do’s”, it’s the clean & simple version). I’m trying to learn this coding stuff! I’ve got a 80 page book in front of me that I’m reading as I go. Eesh! If you don’t like it or don’t wanna stay on that skin, just switch back. It’ll be okay, I promise!

I think I’m gonna paint today. On a canvas, with oils. How ’bout that?!

Hey, I love the lay out of the new “simply put skin”, but there is no comment area…. maybe I’m just missing it?! It actually fits our whole monitor!

That poor little “pella” *Rayne word*. He looks completely “mizzabal” *Tommi word from younger years*
Did you get a sprinkler? Lucky you and the rain. Still not here. Well maybe 5 min worth. Pray for us L.I.T.H. people -k- !

I need to request Elvis on July 2nd. Is he free to dedicate a Happy Birthday wish to Rayne?
    4 YEARS OLD!!! 😥

I like both the ‘artsy me’ and the ‘simply put’ but ah…er… the pink is too cutesy for my tastes. 😐 Luckily its your blog and you get to do anything you want.

Now, now, don’t be prejudiced; there ARE black squirrels and they have the same rights as the other squirrels!

I’d never seen one either! How do you get such GREAT pictures?!!

Tommi – Elvis is available, he just needs his little alarm to be set! (Go sign her up, he forgets EVERYTHING!)

I’ve still got much tweaking to do on that skin, the cookies that hold the style in place – someone stole ’em out of the cookie jar so I’ll have to go buy more. 😕 That’s why it flipped around, Care. And Tommi, the comment link IS there, you just have to stop looking at the pictures, for just a moment! 😉

Sandra, the “in love” me is totally meant to be cutsey. I made that one when my hubby was still in Iraq and it made us feel romantique a little bit, to have such a valentines-ey feel. My blog was “home” for him, and even now it still is when he’s on the road, so I leave it up. I like having the ability to choose, too! (Even though I think I’ll forever be addicted to my main Artsy Me!) 🙂

We have black squirrels a-plenty around here. I had never seen them before we moved here, and don’t see them when we go anywhere else. Wierd, huh? They’re sweet, they seem to be more trusting and inquisitive than gray or brown squirrels.

How do I get these great shots? I have feeders in my backyard, wall to wall windows in my studio, and we frequent zoos and parks. I (usually) always bring my camera, even if I’m just running to the store!

Here are a few more black squirrel pics from my archives:

    Littermates (I think)

    Sammy Davis Jr. Lookin’ Guy

    Right out the Studio Window

I didn’t realize how many squirrely pics I’ve taken! 🙂
