patio solar lighting cutter citronella candles

I grilled up some mean (and tender, and lean) butterflied barbeque chicken, beer brats and hot dogs. I threw together a fruit pizza (basically, a giant cream cheese frosted sugar cookie with fruit on top). I had chips and condiments. I had bottled water and capri sun – and I had more than enough for everyone.

I had great company. The kind that makes you think “I could do this every day of the week.” And I could. I’d love to. And more great company stopped over just to peek in and have a look at the yard and patio. It was wonderful.

I had skewers and sticks, marshmallows, and graham crackers. I had chocolate. I had a perfect little fire pit to gather around and make s’mores. I had just enough of everything so that no one felt left out. The fire was just right (thanks, Jacque!) and the kids had a blast. We forgot to sing Kumbaya, but the sentiment was there.

This is what I look forward to, nights like these. Aaaaah.

What did you do lastnight? And more importantly, why didn’t you stop over? I saved you a marshmallow.

I was there in spirit – thinking about the “fruit pizza”… drool… (wish you had a drool emoticon! 😀 )
It sounds like the kind of evening I always dreamed of – I’m glad you got it, and I wish you tons of them!
    Love you!

Yummy food and setting…wish I was there 😉 I was busy doing nothing…recovering from a weekend of house guests and enjoying the quiet.

what did I do last night? I showed my DH your new patio! And he liked it too.

Then he went outside and put our pavers back in place (we had to tear them all up to dig up the tree roots!) We talked again about the sidewalk that I want and how I would like to replace the paver walk that one of the owners put in cuz it isn’t anchored very well and it is sliding appart.

We also discussed getting a new tree. I think we might replace the black locust trees with one that DD got the seeds for it at the park. LOL!

What a wonderful evening. I did camping laundry from last week and packing to leave again today. I would have rather had a smore. Glad you enjoyed the fruits of your labor.

The new patio looks gorgeous. What a nice way to break it in…with family and friends. The food sounds yummy too! Wish we could have been there!

We grilled burgers and corn on the cob yesterday. Had my in-laws and brother over to eat. They all came with us to watch Cole’s “Itty Bitty Ball” game (T-ball for 3 & 4 year olds). Then we watched the kids have fun at the playground afterwards. It was a great night…and I didn’t get any fire ant bites this time…Woohoo!

    Oh Lord, Kumbaya. :sing:

I’m not coming over every night to light the fire. Well, Maybe, if you have enough chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers. Thanks for a relaxing night.
