Thirteen Things about Leanne, Thursday, September 14, 2006
    My other Thirteens
    1. Been busy. Very busy. I’m still trying to get into a “get it all done in 6 hours” schedule. Sorry.

    2. Why do I do this? Why do I do this? What’s in it for me? Nothing – I do this for other people. To help other people. I don’t make a dime – in fact I spend my own money to host and design and maintain it all. Why don’t people get that? Why do I do this again?

    3. Contemplating the whole blogging thing again.

    4. Contemplating the purposefullness of physical therapy. I don’t do at home what I do twice a week at therapy. I try, but honestly. I don’t do it enough to make a difference.

    5. Still contemplating.

    6. I have designs to build, this is how many I’ll be working on. (6)

    7. I love that working takes up so much time. I would rather be working, my head immersed in creative juice and code.

    8. Again, with the whole “why do I do this?”

    9. More of the contemplating.

    10. A little bit of “why do people expect everything to be handed to them on a platter”.

    11. Mixed in with a healthy dose of “why do I take things so personally.” and “why do I stress out at the drop of a dime?”

    12. A smidge of a memory of a dream, where someone I called a year ago after not hearing from them for several months and haven’t heard from since wondered why we weren’t in touch anymore.

    13. More contemplating, and I’ll continue to do that over a great big monitor full of creative juice.

Your blogging-related Thirteens have been useful to me. Still working up to the whole leaving Blogger thing, though. Some of us don’t mind free advice! Thanks.

What a wonderful blog you have here! Thank goodness for Thursday Thirteen, or I might never have found it! I liked this list because I think it taps into something we all do: contemplation. If you’re not being reflective concerning yourself or your life, then you’re possibly out of touch with those around you. I thought this was very powerful, Miss Leanne!

Happy Thursday to you, and feel free to visit mine if you get the chance.

….maybe you are just crazy. Just kidding. I think you love to make communities. I keep thinking EVERYONE has already joined T13 and every week there are more and more people to add to the list.

Contemplation is good. Goddess know I do enough of it. But just remember we LOVE YOU and life is good.

Because you are a giving and caring soul… besides everyone knows that artists are a bit on the sensitive side or they wouldn’t be a great as they are. Don’t give it up… whatever is bugging you will dissipate like the fog the morning after a good rain. Just know you are loved by more people than those that could ever dis you. :thanku: :iloveu:

    Dear Leanne,

I think it’s okay to wonder why you do some of the things you do, and wonder about why you are the way you are. I saw a really powerful quote on a movie preview of all things, and thought I would pass it along. “To have power over others makes you strong. To have power over yourself makes you fearless.” By always seeking to understand yourself, you come closer to having power over yourself, and closer to being fearless. I love your blog, and am thankful for your thursday thirteen. It has brought me some great readers, and led me to some wonderful blogs, yours included. Ta for now dahling!

“Contemplating”…. is that what my husband is doing for the 25 minutes or so he sits in silence on the toilet?! If so, I think it is probably over-rated!!!

I’m not surprised that contemplation takes a long time and needs repeating. Even just trying out the variations of meditation could be a life’s work.

There is something pleasant and grounding to being able to free the mind of all thought, even just for a moment.

So If you are asking yourself that question, I would have to ask it too…Why do you? Although it might be frustrating at times, it would appear that we get something out of the things we do, beyond monetary compensation, or we wouldn’t keep doing it, right?. I work for almost nothing at what I feel is one of the most important jobs. I get a sense of accomplishment , pride and rewards in hugs. I get a thank you now and then, but I have found that if I rely on others including my director to acknowledge all that I do, I’ll be waiting a long time and still not get the satisfaction I desire. I’ve decided to provide my own worthiness and the things that I don’t find worthwhile, I cut out of my life. It’s difficult, but time is the most precious thing I have and I won’t spend it on things that I don’t get reward from. No one else is going to give you what you desire, find it in yourself to feel that what you are doing is worthwhile. For me anyway, that’s enough. Hugs to you, clara

Hey hun! I didn’t get by Thursday but wanted to say hi. I contemplate the whole blogging thing a lot. One week I’ll want several blogs and the next I don’t have the time or the desire to post to one.

Six designs? Wowzers. You’re a busy lady. It’s just because you’re so darn talented. I guess I better get in line and put in my order for what I want to do next.

Hope you’re having a great week. :friends:

:bunny: (No reason for that one except it is so funny)
