And I’m willing to put them to sleep and end their troubles if they suffered like my now-dead cat, Clare, did (she couldn’t even walk; it was so heartbreaking the way she dragged herself along the floor 🙁 arthiritis, u know…)
For me, my love of animals and to do everything in my power to save them or do stuff for their own good surprasses the disgust and/or sadness. Thank god I’m not allergic, either!
Then again, I’m only 13  what do *I* know, right? besides, math and science arent my best subjects ….but i wont give up!!!!

I asked my daughter to breathe onto them and it didn’t take long before they warmed up and started peeping. We giggled and listened to them peep and watched them open their beaks wide for food. I could tell this was going to be Cait’s thing – she took to them and wanted to care for them, and on the way home she said she wanted to do that all the time. (She’ll probably soon realize that it’s not all fun and peeping, there’s a lot of death involved, and she’ll change her mind like I did.) […]

Tue, 28 Feb 2006 17:57:11 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/?p=1199#comment-6143[…] If there were more hours in a day, I’d love to finish what I start every morning. It seems I get going on a project only to end the day with “to be continued…” stamped on nearly everything. I’d love to wake up, start a painting, and finish it by bedtime. I’d love to fit in a blog design, a workout, my children, and a nice swim, too. There’s just not enough time to do it all. Something I wish I could do well…hmm. I’d love to be a better mom. Problem is, I don’t think there’s such a thing as mastering motherhood. Once you think you have your kid all figured out, they’re packing up and moving out. I’d also love to play piano better. I like playing, and I’d love to be able to read sheet music, but I play by ear. Colleen also wants to know, “What’s the best advice you would give to a young person trying to become an artist?” […]

Tue, 28 Feb 2006 15:22:56 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/?p=1199#comment-6141My daughter loves animals and I wonder if she will do the Vet thing? I grew up around animals my whole life. Sadly, my kids are not. All I can handle right now is a cat. My kids love my parents Alpaca.
There is the good and bad to every job.

Tue, 28 Feb 2006 14:32:23 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/?p=1199#comment-6140I had no idea. My father tried to tell me I wanted to be a doctor, so I repeated that for awhile. The first time I remember thinking about this was when I was about 20 and I thought I wanted to go into the Peace Corp.
What’s the best advice you would give to a young person trying to become an artist?
