So here’s my first “official” not as ticked-off post for the day, venting about some insults thrown my way by another artist. Not the reason I activated my blog security at all, but. This guy obviously doesn’t understand American Women with PMS.

To promote your website, there are several places on the web where you can put a banner up, join a “list”. I’m sure you’ve seen them, top sites lists are everywhere. This one is specifically designed for pet portraitists, so I thought why not? Unfortunately, as is with many of those lists, the ones who browse the list are the ones displayed on it. Not a big deal really, any eyes on my gallery are fine with me.

This list owner, however, e-mailed me the other day telling me he would remove me promptly from the list because I am not an artist, or at least my link doesn’t make it apparent. WTF? You click on www.intricateart.com or www.artistbynature.com and you CAN’T tell I’m an artist? You see this banner:

And you think it’s some sort of front for a dirty website? What? I don’t get it. I was burning mad, insulted that he would say such a thing, and my response said as much. I asked him exactly what link he clicked on. Know how he replied to me? Something along the lines of “ohhhhh yes, well, I saw your resources page, and boy your designer did a poor job if an expert web surfer like me could not even tell yours was a gallery.” and he had the nerve to add “many of the artists on my list are overbooked from internet business because their websites are so great, you should try improving it” crap.

My second reply was not nice at all. Who is he to presume I’m not busy? And WTF? He can’t read? Is my website really complicated or something?! I told him my website is in discussions in forums on the web because my layout is so easy. I told him to search google for “custom dog portrait”, “custom cat portrait”, “custom pet portrait” – among the top searched keywords that bring guests to my website – I am in the top 10. You know what he said? “oh, but who searches THAT term?” Uh, the people I want to paint for buddy, that’s who.

I can’t believe he had the nerve to reply to me again though, telling me he really wasn’t insulting me – he didn’t apologize for being crass, treating me like a novice on the web and about my work. Swear to God, I’ve never even talked to this guy before. I was just on his freaking list. I told him to take me off – I didn’t want to be on the list or website of someone who would go around saying things like this to people. How rude!!!

/rant.

(BTW I am doing something really uber cool, as not busy and stupid as I am, show you later!)

You get deleted. I don’t post politics because I DON’T HAVE A POLIBLOG. There’s a reason for that, Dean, and you’re a perfect example of that reason. So go on and post your little heart out in your sad excuse for a “True American” blog, spam other blogs as you wish and find the same outcome. Surely it will fuel your fire. I think your behavior is rude, interruptive, and completely opposite of the kind of good folks who I welcome to my blog and in my comments. Take a hike, buddy.

I have to admit, I love it when my hubby gets a lil’ jealous. hehe. He has been so patiently waiting for some strange guy (who either can’t read or knows he’s going to be blog fodder) to IM me. He jumped on my puter as soon as he heard the chime this morning. Awwww. Afterward, I looked at the guys profile, and dagnabbit, he’s cute! Okay it’s probably not even him, but still. He was doing okay at first, actually reading my profile, even clicking through to my blog to see my work. But then it went south. And oh, so fast. Why? Why do people have to be so mean to other people? Does it really matter that I’m conservative? Does that label mean everyone automatically knows where I stand on every issue? Do I even care what political leanings anyone else has? Uh. No. You can be whatever you want to be, it’s a free country. You be nice to me, I’ll be nice to you, and that’s how the world stays a happy place, in my humble opinion. Even respectful disagreements are better than “don’t choke on the kool-aid.” Bah.

intricateartist : i don’t judge people by their politics. my husband fought over there and just got back, and we’ve dealt with a lot of negativity (that didn’t come out right) surrounding his participation, it doesn’t bother us if others don’t believe what we believe, we are each free to our own opinions.

intricateartist : no. you would probably have better luck finding what you’re looking for by typing “nude figurative gallery” in google.

Well that did it. I created a new category titled “Yahoo Schmucks!”

In this category you will find people you might want to blacklist before they target you, or heck, just point and laugh at the sheer illiteracy of these “men” (using that term reeeealy loosely!). He’s another one who can’t read or doesn’t understand what “VERY HAPPILY MARRIED” means. I refuse to talk to people like this, they’re just gross and probably on some sex offender list somewhere. Iew. So here they’re going to be, in their own category, to expose them for their schmucky behavior. My own little “IM Offender” list!

Oh the joys of having Yahoo IM. I was going to create a category titled “schmuck of the day”, but that’s harsh. Some of the IM’s I get are really very nice, and I’m sure the guy has potential as far as romance goes, but c’mon. Can’t they read? Here’s my profile on Yahoo. It’s been that way since December of last year, after a plethora of indecent IM’s I had to modify it.

They still don’t read very well. I think I’ll start sharing the IM’s I receive, just in case any of these guys actually read my profile and come here, they’ll know it’s all about painting on cam and business, not flirting with strange men.
