Kiara was a special dog of a friend of mine. She was a wonderful, faithful companion to Margie for 8 years.

Kiara started out as a running companion for Margie and the bond grew. Kiara kept Margie safe on their nightly walks and alerted her to potential dangers on a regular basis. Kiara had allergies and for the last few years of Kiara’s life, Margie would get up each morning and cook special meals for Kiara’s dietary requirements.

A month ago, Kiara died unexpectedly of a heart attack. Margie had a wonderful day before with Kiara… they had taken a special walk and enjoyed the cool crispness in the air.

The image that I sent is Margie’s favorite photo of Kiara. Kiara would lay next to Margie at night, similar to how she’s laying in the image…

I would love to give this as a gift to Margie – in honor and memory of her beloved Kiara.

Looks to be at least part Australian Cattle Dog and maybe a little terrier.

Allow me to introduce you to Sebastian Rupert Longclaws the First (and only!). I rescued my sweet “Saboo” from a shelter when he was just six weeks old. When I first met him, he was curled into a tiny ball, fast asleep, totally unconcerned with all the hubbub of shelter noises all around him. I held him close and he mewed once and went right back to sleep. From that time on, he was my baby, the main man in my life!

Sebastian is two years old now has quite a personality…he’d rather play than cuddle and is always up for a good game of flying through the air after his feather toy or knocking over knick-knacks chasing the laser pointer. I’m a graduate student living in the frozen north and Sabs loves to “help” me study by doing some dramatic climbing up the chair I’m on or knocking things over just out of my reach. In this photo he’s watching over me as I’m doing some research in the evening.

I could go on and on about his antics or sweetness or silly games we play…but I think you can see all that in his eyes. Whether he’s in “roast turkey” position (sitting with legs all under him and tail curled nicely around) or taking a shower in the sink or having crazy-time sliding around on the throw-rugs, he’s my sweet boy and my life would be so empty without him!

Thank you! (I submitted his picture to you via email.)
