I will have to try and capture it with my cell phone… but when I hold and stroke him he sorta purrs… if you can call it that. I will try and capture the moment tomorrow for you. 🙂

See growing up, I was never exposed to birds other than “Paul E Parrot” at our local department store and his cage was set up to keep the public from bothering him much.
My DH on the other hand had parakeets growing up and has no qualms about walking right up and petting them. Once we were visiting some friends and they warned that their parrot was especially mean. DH walks up and begins petting him…the bird never bit but enjoyed the rub.
When we went to Busch Gardens VA in the Lorakeet exhibit DH & I were both the favorite landing spot for the birds even though we had no food on us. Every other place we’ve gone if you had no food the birds didn’t want anything to do with you. But we had at least 3 at a time on us. One bird confused my freckle with something he could eat, but other than that they were quite friendly. We did not attempt to pet these birds as we knew they would be hand shy.
I’ve seen birds who snuggle like yours on TV. They tend to bond with just one person though. I think you’ll find that your daughter has to take your bird with her when she moves out.
