Mon, 03 Mar 2008 12:30:16 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/image-theft/#comment-12779I’m curious, too. How did you know someone had stolen your material? I hate that it happens, especially because you put so much work into yours!

Thu, 28 Feb 2008 12:12:12 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/image-theft/#comment-12790I’ve never posted a copyright re my photos either on my blog or at my smugmug gallery. Perhaps I should…. :dunno:
I’m guessing that you saw one of your photos/drawings somewhere…just wondering how it was that you happened to find it. Sorry it happened.
BTW, I still choose you for my blog designer, but until then, I’m using Typepad’s pre-set designs. They came out with a few new ones and, itchy for a change, I picked one. It’s tough though…out of all their designs, I can count on one hand those that I like and/or work for me.

Is there not more ways to protect your “stuff?” I know that when it happens to me I am furious and I don’t have near what you have!
Some folks harvest my content (blog entries, whole or in part), some snag my photos and post ’em without credits back to the source. It’s always a good idea, if you didn’t pay for an image or get it from a public domain site – to link/credit the author at the VERY least – but a responsible person would seek out any Terms of Use, especially since my copyright is visible. Even google advises people that there could be terms, it’s just that so many people choose to ignore all that silly text all over the internet that warn people about theft like that.
And thanks, I’m glad you like my digs!
