So – My bad mommy incidents – well OK, the most glaring ones – were these:
a.) I let my son go to school one morning and an hour later the school called to announce that he had chicken pox. Ooops, maybe I didn’t really LOOK at him that day.
b.) I was running the cheerleader parent’s snack bar at an after school basketball game and I totally forgot to leave when it was time to pick up my youngest daughter from first grade. This was pre-cell phone days so she had to wait in the principal’s office.
Eventually another parent at the snack stand asked where she was & I suddenly wondered that myself – Eeek! I ran out the door to claim her and I’ve never lived it down.
She’s now a college sophomore on the Deans list and he’s a 25 year old USAF serving in Europe, so I guess what I’m telling you young bad mommies that neither of mine are the worse for bad-mommyism & I’ll bet yours will turn out the same. 😳
