Wed, 29 Apr 2009 13:21:34 +0000http://intricateart.com/?p=4329#comment-25591BSTS – I planted a bee balm outside my office/studio windows for that reason – it smells minty and it’s got a strong scent all summer! We’re a couple weeks ahead of you – I saw that you’re waiting for tulips still, mine are blooming now, as are my hyacinth. It’s coming, it’s coming!

If you do that every year after they flower, you’ll always have manageable sized without a huge amount of growth.
As for those other back breakers – Hire a tan, sweaty man in a white tank top. 😀

Wed, 29 Apr 2009 13:16:48 +0000http://intricateart.com/?p=4329#comment-25588Looks good. I only wish I had regular old gardening chores to do like planting. All of mine are major, labor intensive, back breaking PROJECTS!!! Including deciding what to do with the inherited lilac bushes I have, both of which suffered serious damage from the wet and heavy snow load this past winter. They’re huge, and it’s a daunting task. Just for reference, last year I dug out a pussy-willow “bush” that was as tall as my house!!
Ugh!
