The camera lets me get really close – 12x optical zoom. It also has an image stabilizer which is great for out in the wild, jittery hands and all. When I’m at the zoo, I can usually rest my camera on something stable.

I love how up close and personal these pictures are. I was at a park yesterday evening, trying to get some of the birds to hold STILL so I could get them in focus. No sooner did I get them in the viewfinder than they’d fly off. Out of 130 picts, I kept 17. Not even sure they’re blogworthy! Shutter speed is definitely a skill I need to learn to master!
