Wed, 14 Sep 2005 09:50:11 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/?p=975#comment-3494I’m definitely a fantasy art kind of girl in the main. Two of my favourite artists are John Avon and Larry Elmore. I have a couple of original Avon’s and I’d LOVE an original Elmore but he’s more famous and I can’t afford his prices (although there was this one… but someone beat me to it)
Anyway. All kinds of mediums and sizes appeal.

But I also like old plein air paintings in oils. I don’t really have size preference but I’m unfortunately challenged by lack of walls:neutral:

Tue, 13 Sep 2005 17:01:59 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/?p=975#comment-34981. Subject & Style…
All subjects if done in a style that catches my eye. I guess that would mean I lean towards the dramatic. Or maybe not. hmmm I like impressionism. Photographic realism leaves me cold. I could hang a photograph if thats what I wanted. “Formal” fine art makes me yawn. Abstracts leave me cold, but there have been one or two that intrigued me.
What medium… all of them. However, I like color more than pencil/ink.
Small, medium, large… yes to all of them again. But supersizing isn’t for me. Too big is too big. A tiny painting can be put in a larger frame. We need all sizes because our ‘hanging space’ comes in all sizes. Painting them is a different story for me… no room for a large canvas and a small one..well, I’ve never done a small one so I’m not sure.

Tue, 13 Sep 2005 16:48:28 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/?p=975#comment-3497I find myself drawn to landscapes that have a peaceful feel to them. I have some Lake Como tapestries that I really like.
Mostly what I have in my home are tapestries. I like the soft look.
The size of the art or decoration depends on the size of space I’m trying to fill.
Medium to big. Not that I have a lot of room on my walls!

Tue, 13 Sep 2005 14:21:17 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/?p=975#comment-3492-Hard to say. I love nature (sun, moon, stars, flowers etc.) mostly. But I also love animals of nature.
-I’m fond of oil. But then again I think it just depends on the painting. If you truley love something it doesn’t really matter.
-Depends what it is.
These questions are awfully hard to answer coming from a person who is artisticly challenged. My personal opinion is if you love something it doesn’t matter how it’s done.
Love, Tommi

Tue, 13 Sep 2005 14:20:48 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/?p=975#comment-3493I love the design of your blog, Leanne.
My preferences in art are medium size, say 20″ by 30″, mostly landscapes, either charcoal or blue monochromatics in oil.
