Saw the rash a few posts ago. Given what I have been through in the past few weeks it sure looks like a poisen ivy rash to me. The fact that it is contained to one arm is because you are keeping it so clean. Let us know how it is.
]]>Well, you’re welcome down here in the South anyhow.
Which reminds me–been meaning to comment here regarding your anticipated move. Don’t know how geographically flexible you are, but my recommended slice of Georgia would be as follows:
Start at Brunswick/St. Simons Island. Draw a line up to Statesboro. Then over to Milledgeville. Then up to Gainesville. Then over to Rome (and keep going until you hit the Alabama border). I can personally recommend well over half of what you will find north and east of this line.
I’d do the same for you with Alabama–after all, you actually mentioned that state 🙂 –only I can’t recommend such large swaths. I will say that the right parts of Birmingham grow on you after awhile, and I still miss Johnny Ray’s barbecue (and Nabeel’s, and that Indian place I used to go to, and…). The medical and legal communities there can be rather closed to outsiders though, in my experience.
I understand that Huntsville and Mobile each have much to recommend them; not much experience with either place though. Montgomery’s a peculiar town; not quite sure how I feel about it even after having spent a summer working there. Tuscaloosa I’d put in a good word for, only I’m not sure they’d ever let up in their efforts to convert you to the Cult of The Bear.
As for the smaller cities and towns of Alabama…well, I’m afraid the ones I’ve personally seen mostly don’t bear mentioning. (Sorry, dear Alabamians; I came to love many of you folks, your state’s politics are delightfully wacky, and I will sing the praises of your barbecue above all others…but when it comes to places to live I call ’em like I see ’em.)

]]>What’s up with your arm? See the doc yet?
