Mon, 28 Apr 2008 11:58:02 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/wordpress-upgrade-psa/#comment-13270I’m wondering why there was a problem with your upgrade, Jo. Hmmm…
The text widgets scare me in 2.5.1. A few of the designs I’ve completed in 2.5 have vanquished the text widgets after I set them up. I was none too pleased about that!

Sun, 27 Apr 2008 11:17:45 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/wordpress-upgrade-psa/#comment-13271Now if my hosting service would get it up for me to install I can get a new theme. I tried yesterday to install a new one and 5 hours later I was back to the old one and had to reconstruct all my text widgets!!! (I think I’m still missing a few)

Sat, 26 Apr 2008 14:09:05 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/wordpress-upgrade-psa/#comment-13272Sleeping Mommy – I forgot to mention there *is* a WP Database backup plugin as well – if you want to do it all from the dashboard. The only problem with it is that the bigger the database, the longer the hangup during backup. Sometimes it’s much faster to do a full site backup from the cPanel and pull the DB out if anything goes wonky.

Sat, 26 Apr 2008 14:07:47 +0000http://intricateart.com/blog/wordpress-upgrade-psa/#comment-13273Pam – I hear you. And in a few months, there’s another big jump. I’m not sure about they *why* there are so many, continual improvements are great, and I know the developers must feel that they addressed a majority of the bugs and requested improvements – but someone will always come up with something New! and Improved!
And then we will upgrade again.
Thankfully, it’s a couple of clicks away. Backup, upgrade.
(oh, yes, and pray.)

:sorry:
Let me know if things go amuck – esp. with the plugin.
