The text widgets scare me in 2.5.1. A few of the designs I’ve completed in 2.5 have vanquished the text widgets after I set them up. I was none too pleased about that!

I tried yesterday to install a new one and 5 hours later I was back to the old one and had to reconstruct all my text widgets!!! (I think I’m still missing a few)

The only problem with it is that the bigger the database, the longer the hangup during backup. Sometimes it’s much faster to do a full site backup from the cPanel and pull the DB out if anything goes wonky.

And in a few months, there’s another big jump. I’m not sure about they *why* there are so many, continual improvements are great, and I know the developers must feel that they addressed a majority of the bugs and requested improvements – but someone will always come up with something New! and Improved!

And then we will upgrade again.

Thankfully, it’s a couple of clicks away. Backup, upgrade.

(oh, yes, and pray.)

Have you tried the upgrade plugin (after making a backup)?

:sorry:

Let me know if things go amuck – esp. with the plugin.

Lisa provided a fix for the .htaccess which may be what you need – it’s a host/server related fix.

Here’s her post about it.
