200440 black cat art oil painting portrait Blue Eyes
Size: 8×10

Medium: Oil Painting

Notes: I always wanted to know what a black cat would look like with blue eyes. Now I know. He’s purely fictional, to my knowledge black cats never have blue eyes. If you know of one, I’d love to see pictures! Edited to add Leon was gracious enough to send along his black cat that has blue eyes - thank you Leon! What a stunning cat!!

Original photo (black cat with yellow eyes) taken by Jon Sullivan.

Wow… “steely blue eyes”. I now know what that phrase looks like. Luv the fur…I wanted to reach out and pet him, after getting permission first, of course. Yeah, permission must be granted first.

That’s a really great painting! Oh and I found a picture of a black cat with these icy blue eyes! Here’s the URL :

just thought id let you know, i just adopted a small black cat with ice blue eyes. they change color sometimes. they can be pure blue, turquoise, and even sometimes pure white (which is kind of freaky). Hes still a kitten but he is part siamese (you can tell by his long legs, painful meow, and of course, the blue eyes) so he will get to keep them!

i love this painting - i’d like a black cat one day. i’ll use u as an artist influence for my art at school if u dont mind

~James

I have two black cats. One has gold eyes, and the other one has green ish blue eyes with a blue ring around them. When i got him i was told that his mother was a Siamese and his father was a mutt. He also has the classic siamese tail! I named him Hercules as he was this tiny kitten picking on my other cat Neelix.

Your painting is AWESOME!! I wish that i was that talented! Keep up the painting!

Theres a picture on the internet that looks just like this cat.. minus some color differences. It’s uncanny! http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/image/s_black-cat1.jpg
