Still Life Viola Painting : Antoinette

completed in August, 2005

200507 Antoinette viola still life painting violin oil
Size: 18×24

Medium: Oil

Notes: I started this gorgeous viola painting in December, 2004. I regularly post works in progress photos in my blog, and a client saw it in progress and immediately claimed it. I truly enjoyed painting this piece, it is my new personal favorite.

Look how you’ve captured that polished wood grain. Awesome! And what a perfect gift for a musician. (I’ve come to really love the vibrations of a violin, cello, etc. It touches my soul.)

Wow, very realistic. Look at the shine on that instrument.

One of the more difficult subjects, the viola or the violin. Just to get the shape right an achievement. But yours! Nice composition. Your color is stunning! Very fine painting.
