Custom Dog Portrait : MacTavish

completed in December, 2006

custom dog painting scottish terrier scottie portrait original traditional oil painting fine art
Size: 12″ x 16″

Medium: Oil Painting

Notes: MacTavish passed over the Rainbow Bridge, so my client commissioned me to paint him to create a loving and lasting memory to present to her sister for Christmas. This beautiful memorial portrait of MacTavish will have a place in her home as much as he will always have a place in her heart.

[…] MacTavish is a stunning Scottie (Scottish Terrier) who passed over the Rainbow Bridge, and has now been memorialized in a nice 12×16 custom portrait. These paintings always tug on my heartstrings, knowing that they will always be viewed fondly with loving memories – so I do my best to create a painting that will evoke the loving good natured personalities that we pet parents remember after our babies leave this earth. We also lost a scottie recently, his name was Mac , His real name was Mcguire after Mark Mcguire we got him in August of 98 during the home run derby. See we live right across the river from St. Louis and are huge Cardinals fans. But he was know as MAC and sometimes MACKIE. He was just 3 weeks shy of his 9th birthday and succumbed to thyroid cancer. There is such a hole in our hearts even though it is still so raw I don’t think it is anything that my husband and I will ever be able to totally get over. Scotties are a very unique breed and have the most wonderful and loyal personallity. So I would like to inquire about a painting the same size of our special friend.

We recently lost our beloved Emily (11/28). She had been our faithful companion for the past 14 1/2 years. I would love to have a portrait done for my wife for Christmas if possible. I realize the time is short but it would really mean a lot to her.

Emily’s mom was a cockapoo and we always said her dad came from a good neighborhood. She was just a mutt but she was so very special.

Please advise.
