I always find that some time in my garden with my flowers can do a lot for my mood, and I wonder if any of you have the opportunity to experience this. While I was thumbing through my recent shots, I found several that evoked very specific feelings in me, so I thought I’d do a little social experiment, if you will.
Over the next few days I’ll post my photos and you tell me how you feel when you’re looking at them. I’d like to know if it’s a momentary change or if you feel like you’ll carry this new feeling with you, even for a little while.

Abandoned…
My townhouse here in Florida must “feel” abandoned while we’re away, but my dominant mood is one of anticipation so I can’t say that feeling is anything but a reaction to the photo.
Ooh – that’s not a feeling I expected, but I can see why you’d pick that up. (I’m excited to see how you perceive the others!)
This photo fits my mood PERFECTLY today~ Sleepy and worn out. No energy. Poor little pretty flowers. :violet:
I feel your bedtime call. :/
if i’m being honest, i feel like the top flower is flipping me the bird. :((
That is SO funny, tabatha, that was the second thing I noticed about the flowers!
First impression: I looked away. They have an end-of-romance feel to them… that combined with the flip off and they could have been sent by my ex-husband!
:flower:
LOL Tommi – take a nap already!
Taba – well, I’m sure you’d flip me off too if you were that thirsty. 😛
Pam – I didn’t even notice the birdie until Taba pointed it out! What a not-nice bouquet to send to someone you don’t love.
disheveled – everything’s a mess and if I try to do anything to fix it, it will most likely fall apart or get worse!
🙁
Oh, flowers always affect my mood. They make me smile from ear to ear. Lovely photo!
I love gerbera daisies.
While I like beautiful pictures of flowers it is only a momentary mood lifter. For me working in the garden has a longer lasting effect.
cozy – all huddled up – perfect for today’s weather – (here in nj, It’s been raining throughout the day)…
when feeling down and lonely, friendly hugs can cheer u up – 🙂
leanne: i’d flip you off for less than that. :raspberries:
rofl @ Pam!
Makes me feel like its time for something new, something fresh! I’m getting to plant my ornamental grasses that I ordered from high country gardens this weekend. I can’t wait to get a little dirty! Hugs, clara
I absolutely love flowers. Normally looking at them brings me joy and the ones here are fab! I’m feeling a little happier on the inside looking at them… the happiness hasn’t made it to the outside yet ’cause I’m in a little funk.
I sorta agree with Tommi… the picture made me want to relax. It rained all day today so I’m sure that’s a contributing factor.
Melancholy. Like it’s the end of a good thing.
I love their colors and delicateness. I imagine that would be a lovely painting. 🙂
Like a little girl in Grandma’s closet. They look like big old feathered hats. :princess:
These make me feel reflective.
