  • Post-it’s

This is my method of organization. I write stuff on post-its so that I don’t forget. I write lists on post-its. I write keyboard shortcuts on post-its. Birthdays. Website addresses. Cameras I like. Ink cartridges I need. Passwords. Customer numbers. Appointments. Scripts I need to install. Phone numbers. You name it, it’s in that mess-o-post-its right there.

This is …. organized? There’s gotta be a better way. What’s your way? Where do you write the stuff down, and can you beat my pants off if we had a “Whose got more post-its on their desk” contest? Lemme count… right now I have 23 post-its and two clean stacks waiting their turn.

Lord help me, I’m drowning in little sticky pink (and purple) pieces of paper.

At home my desk is a disaster, but at work I am like you… everything on post-it’s. I am guessing here but I bet I could pull out a pile maybe 25-30 deep? lol :shame:

Thanks for coming by and giving Carlo a send off note. This was just a bad weekend for commenting… but he understands. I imagine right now he is on the plane and hopefully he is finally getting some much needed sleep.

This is a timely question, as I have to begin making a very important list for my upcoming trip to France. Where do I put it? I have a tiny calendar I carry in my purse (I’ve never been into the mega Day Planners), but there is no room for a list there. Sometimes I write a lits on a separate piece of paper and clip it to the week, but this is something that needs to be more permanent.

My sister uses 3×5 cards and keeps those clipped together in her purse.

I don’t know, but I’ll be checking back to see how others do it.

If I tell you I’d have to raid your refrigerator for all the sugar fixes lurking there  Ok I have text files in my computer but of course I’m a sad case when the computer has a tantrum  And besides, pink and purple become you :lovestruck:

Umm so I clicked on the link in my email and it unsubscribed me :duh: where is the subscribe button on this baby? :yahoo:

Your desk looks by far more organized than mine and I only cleaned it a week or two ago. It fast piles up with notes and not the pretty post-it kind. I rip pages from catalogs – things that would make interesting posts…and I hardly ever look back at them.
Another thing I do is write notes in my books all along the margins; also to go back to refer to. I hardly ever do.
I’ve a drawer in my desk that has stuff in it from when I first got my computer in about ’97. Passwords for everything, which I no longer have a clue as to what they are for. And the papers in this drawer also have quickly written notes written for some reason or another.
I like your post-it idea better than mine!

No post it’s here. Scraps of paper is what I use.

This week I am writing everything down that needs to get done, I want to do, am supposed to do. then I am going back and making a nice working list in teeny tiny chunks that can get done.

This is a great time to get a plan and work your plan.

I also bought a new agenda. it is from momagenda.com. I love it. The mom agendas do not have cutsie pics on them. I bought the myagenda one.

I have to post-it everything!! I go through 2 packages a month at work.
Mostly because noone does things they’re supposed to be done. The rest of the time because I can’t remember sh*t! :brickwall:
But I do love my sticky notes!!!!

I too am a sticky note freak! I have been removing them from my computer and taping them to the cabinet behind it! Every now and then I organize and place the info into my spreadsheet and toss them out! But I really think it is the only way to keep notes! I only have 22 at the moment and some of those are no longer useable I just haven’t cleaned up the mess! :meow:

Gotta love the post-it! I use those but I think I over try to organize and it tends to backfire on me.

I don’t really use sticky notes because I move them so much that they quit sticking – then they fall and my dog eats them. I have some 5×7 writing pads that I keep by my computer and by my bed. I write all my notes and things on them.

I don’t have post its because I can’t find them. I’m sure I bought some during the back to school spree. I have lists for everything, however. evvvvvverything.
I write them down in spiral bound, wired note books, composition books, notebook paper, note paper, typing paper, legal paper…where there is paper, there’s a list in the making.
We have a lot of paper around here.
Now if I could just keep track of all the lists…

As for organizing dates… I have 3 calendars. One on the wall for the whole family, a pocket one for my purse and another one that is mega day planner size. That one isn’t working out real well and will probably be history next year.

I need an animated flashing software that will pop up on the computer in bold red and black with a “WARNING! YOU ARE LATE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT!! STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER AND GET THE L OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!”
that might get me off the puter and keep me from checking that last email…..

Wow. I love your art and photography. Oh yes, and pink post-its too! 😉 I’m trying desperately to make the move to my digital palm. But we’ll see how that goes. I can’t seem to give up writing stuff down on cute little pieces of paper.

Oooooohhhhhh….you mean I’m supposed to write stuff down? I might actually remember stuff then.

Actually, I go throught spurts of being super organized using my palm pilot and having everything in little memos on my palm pilot. Unfortunately right now I’m in the non-organized phase where I’ve been missing appointments because I’ve been forgetting to write them down and stuff.

I need a more regular system. I was thinking a personal assistant would be good, but first I need to win the lotto since the dog and the cats refuse to take notes.

I always have a ‘to do’ list. I keep it on small piece of paper, about 3×5. I cross off thing as I do it.

I used to write things down on post-its, but I never went back and read them, so that didn’t work.

Now I use Outlook on my computer and it syncs with my Treo. Since my Treo is also my phone I always have it with me. When I have an appointment I can set an alarm that pops up and plays a tune to remind me.

For misc. notes I put them in the memo section of Outlook and they end up on my Treo also. It works for me because my appointments, to do list, addresses and notes are all together. Plus I can play games on it. 😉
