I love that when I see these birds, I’m reminded of my Gramma. It got me curious about “how old sayings go…” Do you have a favorite old saying?
As a sidenote; you guys kicked some serious bloghopping bootie yesterday! My eyes fell out of my head at some point, and my hubby had to pick them up, clean ’em off and pop ’em back in for me. It was really overwhelming, and I hope I can get to everyone who left their links at some point this weekend! I’ll be coding the weight loss blog design today, and hopefully have it up tomorrow (crossing my fingers), and this weekend I’ll be finishing up Joey’s portrait.

ok, the only old saying I can think of is birds of a feather flock together, which is why I tell my daughter to choose her friends carefully or they will choose her. Maybe it was the picture of the birds, but I can’t think of any others and I probably say them every day! Hugs to you and yours today, clara
That is beautiful, Leanne.
Do you really have green grass showing in your yard? We just got 4-6 inches of snow dumped on us last night and the way it looks, it may be coming your way.
Good luck with the coding. I got Dance Dance Revolution for a late Christmas present and me and my family were having dance offs periodically through the day yesterday. It is a pretty good work out and fun, too.
Wow, I never heard that about morning doves being a sign of a peaceful house. We have mornig doves at the feeders every morning. Thanks for that …..it made my day. Your grandma rocks! Lazy Daisy
Clara, you’re a good, smart mom, you know!
Shel, yes, our snow has all melted here, and I don’t think we’re going to get yours! :raspberry:
Yep, Daisy, my Gramma was a great lady. Thanks! I’m glad you have Doves, too! :lovestruck:
I immediately thought of attracting my flies with honey than vinegar. From my grandmother though, she would often say to me that if your palm/palms itch, that you’re going to get some money. One time we were leaving a restaurant and she was saying that as we found a $20 in the gutter. I’ve been superstitious about it since!
Oh that is a beautiful saying! I am sure I have some from my great-gramma but this late in the day and on a Friday my brain has shut off. Not sure where the switch is either. But when I remember I will be sure to pass it on. The doves are gorgeous!
I hope you and yours have a wonderful 2006! See ya next year!
I have a whole book on old sayings and what they mean!! Just ask and I will provide an answer!! I also have mourning doves around here and I love how they “coo”. They are beautiful even if they are nothing more than glorified pigeons!! Did you know they mate for life??
Got a request for you Leanne! When you have the spare time (which I know is in very short supply) could you make me a header with my key for my thursday thirteen? Much appreciated if you get a chance!! Hugsssssssssss
We must have one helluva peaceful house because we have them all over our backyard… on the deck… on the roof ledge… on the trees… on the fence post. *laughs*
This is a lovely photo. As for sayings… I still quip “Company’s coming from the (north, south, east, west)!” when we drop a piece of silverware. 🙂
I’m in! I’m In! Your Thursday 13 is really taking on a life of its own! Terribly fun and makes me think!!
We’ve had a few morning doves here in the spring does that count? One of my favorite sayings is “What goes around, comes around.” Keeps me honest  Have a Happy New Year!!!
When we first moved to AZ, there was this annoying whining dog that lived in one of the houses behind us. That thing drove me nuts! Every morning and evening all I heard was whining. Then as we were sitting on the patio one day it started up again and I told my husband that I’d sure like to find that damn dog. My mother in law was over and she said what are you talking about? So I said, that whining. That is all we hear day and night. TheMan said, yea it is annoying. She said “that isn’t a dog. That is a dove. It is calling out for its mate.”
Well, I sure felt like an ass then. Poor dove. Lost his love. sad.
dont do anything that you will regret and dont regret anything that you do..
Happy New Year’s, Leanne! 🙂
