This is a Grapple. Smells like a grape, tastes like an apple! At least that’s what the package says. It does smell like it was hanging out in the grape drawer for a while. From the website:

Experience the wonderful new flavor of Gr?pple® brand apples. Imagine the sweet distinctive flavor of Concord grapes combined with the crispness of a fresh, juicy Washington Extra Fancy apple.

Now, instead of buying apples and grapes, dicing up the apples and putting them both in a bowl for munching ( umpteen servings of this for a combined total of around $4), you can have your grapes infused directly into the apple for about $2 (each apple)!

I bought them. I thought they would be really neat to try. They were! And that was the last time I’ll spend $2 for an apple that smells like a grape and tastes – really – like a sweet apple.

What will they think of next?

That does look pretty tasty! I like Gala apples, personally.

What’s next? Perhaps a banorange or a lemapricot!

Have you ever tried a pearsnapple aka Korean Pear? They’re huge and taste like a cross between a juicy, sweet apple and a crisp pear. One of the best fruits I’ve ever tasted! Expensive, too though.

Okay, I have to say this. I have tried these apples. I couldn’t resist the smell – made my mouth water! They tasted good, but are definately NOT worth 2 dollars each!
BUT!! The whole reason for this comment is your PICTURE! When I first saw it, I thought it was a candle set in the middle of apple slices – LOL!!! The juice on the core looked like wax, and the stem looked like the wick :duh:
I thought that was a way cool idea that you’d come up with now!

I saw those in the store but seeing as I am a red delicious apple girl I chose to pass them over. Besides, I’m not willing to pay that much for produce (although I love that department most of all).
I like the way you photograph ordinary things. You have a good eye.

I do like them because they are so crunchy. I don’t like soft apples. We get those here for about $1 each, which still seems a lot for an apple. I think it must be the one thing that is cheaper here! Usually, I go for a granny smith with peanut butter. clara

I saw those in the grocery store the other day and wondered how they tasted. You satisfied my curiosity. I can now sleep at night. LOL.

I prefer honeydew apples but they’re so hard to find. 🙁

    That’s a lovely photo (btw).

You do know they are trying to create broccoli that takes like chocolate, don’t you?:zombie:
