I’m been working my wrist off in the studio this week! Elsie’s underpainting is complete now, and once this layer is dry I’ll start the next layer which will be painted wet-in-wet. She may get one more coat after the next one, to finish up her whiskers.

I love all the cat paintings! This girl looks like a real sweet kittie.
I like this best of all your cat paintings… It’s unbelievably alive! I swear I feel as if I’ll feel fur if I touch my monitor!! :good:
OMG….this painting rocks! I love, love, love it! :jawdrop:
I love tiger babies…Elsie is stunning! It really does look like you could reach out and pet her. :meow:
Elsie’s is a very special portrait, indeed. I do wish more pet parents would share more about their babies before I paint them, it obviously impacts the resulting portrait in a very deep and touching way.
Thanks to each of you for seeing that in her. :lovestruck:
:jawdrop: gorgeous already!! your underpainting in someone elses eyes is a finished masterpiece! :friends:
Talent. :good:
Very nice!
Leanne, you always manage to capture the life of your subjects in their eyes. I am always drawn to the eyes in your paintings. I love this cat’s eyes.
Great work, absolutely beautiful!
Leanne,
I am Elsie’s aunt, and I would like you to know that your work is absolutely stunning!!! You have managed to capture the essence of Elsie as if you knew here personally. What a gift you have been able to give to Elsie’s mom. I know she will treasure it forever!
Elsie was an incredible cat . . . she seemed to possess the wisdom of the ages, as if she had lived for centuries. She knew just how to put you in your place and make you realize how incredibly ignorant you were in her eyes! Elsie was the grand dame of cats. There will never be another one like her! Now she will remain with us always through your beautiful work.
Leanne – my friends and family have been writing me about your work on Elsie. Everyone that knew Elsie, and there were a lot of them since she lived to be 19 years old, can see that you’ve captured her spirit in this portrait. I’m so thankful that I found you and knew that I’d found the right artist.
I just saw that my sister, Lu, posted a comment, but I wanted you to know that I’ve had at least a half dozen comments, all sharing her and my sentiments!
