I’ve played with my camera to try to get some great shots of our bursting fireworks displays and managed to come away with a handful that I really love. I wanted to share something that will make your life a little easier if you’re looking to try your hand at some bursting photos over the weekend:

11 Tips for Sparkling Fireworks Photos @ Photojojo

You should always play with these settings beforehand and if you can program it, do that – because once they start, you don’t have much time to be playing with your camera.

What are your plans for the holiday weekend?
…. do I even need to tell you where I’m going to be? I didn’t think so.

    …on the patio? 😀

What do you spray to keep the skeeters away? They’re eating me up at night!

I spray the yard with either Ortho or Cutter backyard spray (it goes on the hose, you spray everything in the AM, bushes- the house, everything) and that helps a TON. The gnats are bad here so I burn cutter citronella candles too.

I’m lucky – they don’t bother me too much, must be my perfume? I use Mary Kay spa essentials. 🙂

The patio looks fantastic! You need some pretty twinklie lights hanging off the eaves to really romance it up… enjoy the holiday weekend…you deserve it!

Thanks for the tip. I’ll be laying low for the weekend. Perhaps a board game accompanied by wine with the neighbors. We’ve had two busy weekends, so doing not much sounds good. Enjoy yours!

I have a fireworks setting on my new camera, woo! I will see how it comes out on the “kid friendly” kind this evening at our friend’s house.

Happy 4th! (you need a firework smiley) :friends:

[…] Last night we watched some of the fireworks from the beach between the buildings, later moseyed to the front of the parking lot – better view – of three different displays. Perfect night to be watching. I didn’t have the good camera and had no tripod or railing to lean against, so pictures are not gorgeous like one Leanne of Intricate Art posted. Her photo is different, a fascinating tight spiral leading up to the burst. You must, you must, go see it here! […]
