  • Saturday Painting

    November

    2004

I am beginning to think that I am going to have to wait until the girls settle in for the night before I can paint! It’s been a crazy Saturday full of games and sisterly catfights, pizza and hanging out.

You can check back after 8:30PM CST on my Yahoo cam, I will try to update before I start but I really am wanting to just get out there and get going. Caitlin is having company tomorrow, so as much as I want to paint I just don’t know how far I’ll get with interruptions. (I’ll give it a go anyway!) We’ll also have to do a few things to get ready for company while I am having surgery. 😀

Ok ok enough yackin, the girls are squealing!

    Happy Friday!

    This week has flown by!

It’s going to be a busy weekend, I will be working on WB&F again probably later tonight. My schedule is a little out of whack this morning, I had the chance to talk to Mark for a while this morning and so that’s what I did! It’s not often we get to chat for more than 15-20 minutes. He’s doing well, he’s stiff and sore from the jolt of the blast and his hearing is still muffled but should return to normal in a few days.

I know I mentioned a month or so ago after my foot surgery that I had one more surgery coming up, and that is taking place this coming Monday. I will still stay on schedule with everything, since I’ve known about this one for a while and planned accordingly, so no worries on that! I will be back to finishing up this piece probably the day after, if not Wednesday of next week. I still have a few painting days before surgery, so I’ll be pretty far along! 🙂

With that, I am going to go get some things done and be ready to start the underpainting of the kitties shortly after dinner. I will paint on cam, and update when I start!

Hope you’re having a great day!

    Mark’s first injury

It’s happened, Mark’s had is first (and prayerfully last) injury over there. He’s fine, a few very minor schrapnal wounds, he was cleaned up and released back to duty. They were out on patrol and an IED was placed in their path and detonated when they drove over it. Thankfully we’re stronger than they are, and the guys are fine.

    Phew.

Keep ’em in your prayers ok?

    Annie’s Turn!

    2004

Today’s Annie’s turn on the easel! YAY! She is such a little sweetie pie and I am so excited to paint her!

I am guessing I’ll be painting around 10AM CST. It’s only 6:30AM, I have only had one cup-o-java so far and still have chitlens to care for. (sssh they’re still sleeping!)

So I’ll be working on Annie on Cam, I’m going to go with MY cam and I’ll go ahead and turn it on now even tho I won’t be out in the studio for a couple-a hours yet. Why not? You can gaze upon her cuteness at your leisure!

    MY WEBCAM PAGE LINK

I had a dream lastnight that “Homecoming” not only sold, but had a bidding war in the last hour! Wouldn’t that be something exciting to watch! You better not be saying “in your dreams, Leanne”, because you have to know by now most of my dreams come true. ;D

Hey! Kiddo #1 is clinging to my arm smiling and saying good morning to me, so I’m going to scoot!

I’ll be back with progress pics & scans and stuff later,
    HAPPY SATURDAY!

    Veteran’s Day

    2004

Veteran’s Day used to be a day to remember our older retired vets who have been there, done that. Over the last couple of years it’s had a different meaning to me personally. Mark is a Veteran now of 3 wars. Beirut-Lebanon, Persian Gulf, and now Iraq. I have to say I have a lot of respect for the guys who have been there, done that, and volunteer to do it again knowing in advance what they’re getting into.

So thanks, to all Veterans and especially my own, for being so brave.

I’m back from my Dr. appointment, back from the pharmacy, and now my schedule next week is filling up with other Dr. appointments. So I will be getting into the painting groove big time the next few days!

I’ll start working on Scarlett & Sebastian again on my Yahoo connection(already up and running).

Yea, in case you’re wondering, I am having hubby withdrawls about now. I haven’t heard from him in over a week now. Forgive me for seeming sullen, I do get pouty when I don’t get to chat with my guy!

    See ya on cam…

Carly Sue (Cat Portrait Work in Progress!)

    2004

Here’s Carly Sue, she will be getting special attention today! The webcam is on (I’ve left it on since yesterday), and I’ll be back there in a minute!

I kicked off the program today for my new (increased) 25 pound goal. In case you’re wondering how I do it, I drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water a day, treadmill 30 minutes at 2.7 MPH to start (I will increase this gradually as I go, maxing out at about 45 minutes at 3.4-3.8 MPH), and I WRITE DOWN every single thing I eat/drink. I weigh-in after treadmilling and showering, and I’ve usually already had coffee/water for a couple of hours when I do that, so it gives me a better idea of my progress. I write down what the scale says underneath the date in my notebook.

So today I walked 1.3 miles in 30 minutes, and I’ve already had about 15 oz. of water. Ooh yea, I have to recommend getting the huge sports bottles that are 32 oz. or larger, get a couple to swap out in the fridge. I write in my notebook “Water – 1/2” and then “x” through when I finish each one, and if I haven’t finished by bedtime I down it. Drink water when your tummy rumbles!!! That is a MUST.

Ok there are my diet tips. No carb counting, no heavy protein. Eat a light lunch and whatever you want for dinner, just don’t have more than one helping. Drinking all the water makes you feel full all the time so it helps you control your snack intake & stuff.

Ok NOW I’m going to get out into the studio!

    Sunday Drive

    2004

If any of you were ever wondering what it looks like where I live, here ya go. We hit the road today visiting family, this is the scenic route. LOL

I did finish backing up my entire hard drive to CD this morning before we left. Now I’m going to cook up some grilled ham & cheese and chicken noodle soup for dinner, and I hope to get four pair of eyes painted this evening.

I’ll go ahead and turn the webcam on, I may not be out there for a little while yet but you can hang out or check back in at your liesure! I’ll use my cam, which is this one: Leanne’s Cam if for any reason I need to switch to Yahoo, I’ll let you know!

**I also just listed my Wine Painting on eBay, see it here**

Hope you all are having or have had a good relaxing weekend!

UPDATE 8:36PM I finished blocking all of their eyes in. Now I’ll work on each piece individually until it’s finished, beginning with Carly Sue (top left).

    Saturday with the Kids

    2004

I really wanted to spend some time today on all three of my current paintings and get the eyes done, but I can’t. They’re still tacky, so I will have to wait until late tonight or tomorrow to work on them. Bummer!!!!

That’s alright though, after lastnight’s household drama we (the girls and I) need a day out. The sky is crystal clear today, it’s chilly now (34?) but supposed to get up to 65, I have a couple of new cozy sweaters I picked up from Kohls.com, so I am ready to get outside and sieze the day!

I’ll be back later on and let you know if/when I’m turning the cam on. Sorry for yesterday’s confusion, too. I had initially started on my own hosted webcam program but because one of my clients can’t view it there I switched over to the Yahoo hosted cam program. So I added some text on my cam page (intricateart.com/webcam/) and linked to yahoo in case that happens again. I wish there were a program that I can guarantee 100% of my viewers will be able to load it without a problem!

I leave you with a gorgeous yellow rose from my beautiful huge bouquet!

Last, and certainly not least, don’t forget about our guys.

    Homecoming

    2004

Homecoming is the final title for this painting. The scan is phenominal, and I’ll throw a couple of closeups in here too, the dog tags as well as my sig. Beautiful piece, I’m a proud mama.

I’ll start working on a sweetie of a Calico all curled up. I’ll get her sketched out this afternoon and you can have a look at her tonight before I start painting tomorrow.
