Noodle is finished! I’ll wait until she’s dry before I sign her, and I’ll post a scan and details after I varnish the painting.
Have a great weekend!

Have a great weekend!
Here’s the second work in progress on this kitty painting I started the other day. This is the underpainting plus one layer, I have another layer or two of fur to go. The eyes are pretty close to being done and the nose is finished. This is an 8″x8″ oil painting, in case you were wondering.
I painted today!
Meet Noodle, Lolo‘s kitty. Looks like I’m climbing back up on the wagon alright, I admit I was a little worried that I’d forgotten how to paint with oils. I’ve been working on graphic illustrations pretty much non-stop since July 29th!
Thanks, Lo, for taking such an inspiring photo of your baby!
Here’s a screenshot of a portion of the illustration I’m working on. Each component gets drawn separately, and there are two dogs in this one!
I’m in the middle of a storm so I’m trying to get as much done on the dog on the right as I can, saving my work every two seconds or so. I’m paranoid about losing power. Heck I’m paranoid about losing my hard drive! I’ve got a lot of work to do so I’d better scoot!
😛
I’m working on an illustration, and usually I don’t share these works in progress. HOWEVER. You all think it’s all about catfish catfish catfish, and blah blah back stuff, and frankly you better knock it off or I’m just gonna … well … I’m gonna show you this teenie tiney piece of what is a huge painting on my monitor right now. (I’ve had a mommy kind of day, canya tell?)
So this is one of my graphic illustrations in progress, and you can just guess what it is. But this is what it looks like waaay super huge while I’m painting it, and when it’s done it looks all spiffy and neato freato and stuff.
So, do you know what it is? I made it too hard, didn’t I.
😉
I started several 4×4 paintings a couple of months ago and I’m finally getting back to them! I just finished the underpainting on this polish chicken, and will work on a couple other underpaintings tonight as well. You can have a look at my project calendar to find out what I’ve got planned!
I just finished, so this is wet paint (glare). I deepened her nose, painted her whiskers and most importantly, gave it my own “seal of approval” signature! Hey did you know I have that same signature on my ankle? Yep, I’ve been signing my paintings this way since, uh, a long time ago. I got the tattoo in 1990!
For those of you here from Michele’s today, HEY! Hi there! Nice to see you!
Details forthcoming, once the paint is dry I will varnish, then I will scan and post the final images and detail shots. That’ll happen some time this weekend. This is a 10×10 Oil painting on gallerywrapped canvas. 🙂
Lucy’s portrait is in her final stages now. What’s left, you ask? Whiskers! She’s off to her mom for proof approval, so this tortie is almost finished. 😀
