These Queen of the Night tulips are more purple than I expected (I expected them to be really dark) but tulips are tulips, and I still love them.

Allium is such an interesting flower. Big tall stalks with a purple ball on the top.
Do I like purple? Why yes, yes I do.

    BABY BROCCOLI!!!
I’m so easily amused. I’ve never seen baby broccoli before. You?

crazy big twister grass photo leanne wildermuth
I love me some crazy grass. This is called “Big Twister”.
It makes me want to twirl my long hair around my fingers.

My sister sent me flowers on my birthday. They came in a square vase.
I’ve been wondering how to put that vase to good use.
I loaded it with roses from my Knockout Rose bushes and set it on a white table.

If you love roses, get a few Knockout Rose bushes.
There are only three bushes here, and dozens of roses in bloom at a time.

Oh! I’m drooling over the landscaping! I can’t wait to find a house of our own so we can do some actual planting and move beyond just a container garden. Love the twisty grass!

I’ve seen baby broccoli before, but never in my garden! Last year I must have planted too late and in the wrong spot (too shady)…I got leaves but never the “flower”…so this year I’m trying in a sunnier spot.

Love all your purple…I’m a purple fan too. (you might have noticed that with all my purple flowers, huh?) 😉

Thanks for sharing…I might have to go & get some more rose bushes. The house came with two and I’ve been neglecting them. 🙁

I couldn’t pass up the crazy grass – I just love it. I’m totally digging up my whole yard to take with me when we move.

Hi, I love your garden. I was searching images of the Knockout Rose bush and stumbled on yours. Will they grow in areas that are half sun half shade. I have a 6 by 6 area in front of my house on a slope and thought that these would be nice and easy to maintain since they are self cleaning. I would be very interested to know so may be I could by some… Is it too late to plant now, in August? thanks for any help.. Happychick2525@yahoo.com

    Hi Shannon,

Kockout’s thrive in full sun, which is 4-6 hours or more. If you get that much, they should do well! You can definitely still plant them, there’s another month or two of warm weather for them to establish. I’d just recommend a root booster when you put it in the ground to help it along. 🙂
