I walked into my living room to put my camera into Standard Hummingbird Photo Op Positioning when lo and behold, there was a stranger on their feeder. Good timing, I thought.
This cute little House Wren hopped around, posing for me in several positions. I wondered why he was there. Did he just enjoy the reflection in the window? Did he really think he was going to get nectar? Or maybe it was just a convenient and safe place to land while he’s still a little wobbly on the wings.
Who knows – I’m just grateful for the timing. It’s certainly not often you see something other than Hummingbirds – and ants – on a Hummingbird feeder.

How sweet! Love the second picture, where you see his little face really well.
aweee that’s so neat! and cute! :violet:
Wonderful to see…so sweet!
I have a fascination of watching birds, even though I don’t know what most of them are called. We have some small birds similar to the one you pictured that are SO loud, especially in the morning!
You just reminded me, I need to set out the hummingbird feeder. It’s sitting right there in the garage and I don’t know why I’ve ignored it.
He does seem a bit like he’s taking a break from flight lessons there. 😉 Maybe it’s like a lemonade stand for birdies?
What a cutie!! That was good timing!
Your wren and my wren oughta hook up 😉
lol, that’s great!
i don’t have that feeder, but i do have a passion flower on my deck that the hummingbirds like to frequent. i also just planted a honeysuckle vine, which is barely in bloom, that is in need of some visitors.
