I’ve completed Max’s portrait and just await the final blessing from my client before I ship this beautiful little puppy painting across the Atlantic. I snapped some photos as I was working on him and thought I’d share that progress with you as well, you can see all of the photos behind the fold!
The under painting – ready for fur!
Working in his ears and forehead.
Detailing eyes & face
His muzzle, nose and the dirt on his nose are finished…
Wrapping his tail around the side of the canvas & finishing up his fuzzy rump.
Chest & front paws are done, now to lighten his coat to a creamy white!
There! Detailed out all the whitest whites, whiskers, signature – he’s ready for varnish!

I couldn’t help but smile and chuckle at Max’s portrait! He looks alive and full of mischief! Another incredible job well done, Leanne! :clapping:
Absolutely enchanting!!
 Oh the eyes are really amazing! You have given the portrait such life! Very beautiful indeed! And that fur looks so soft you just want to give him a stroke!
Oh Leanne the portrait is just gorgeous. I am finally back on line, I hope you have been well, I have missed looking at your creativity.

First time on your site. Just wonderful!
I LOVE it! It’s absolutley gorgeous! It makes me want to have another Golden Retriever, but since we already have three Border Collies, Hubs would probably tell me to go find a new place to live. hehe
Your Collies are stunning, Misty!
Couldn’t you just build a big doghouse in the backyard for the hubs? They have this in-floor heating now that I hear is pretty cozy. hehe! 😉
What a gorgeous painting. I am so glad I found your link again, to come see your great art.
