This morning I gave the wildflower garden a good watering, and to our surprise, we got to enjoy a little Ma & Pa Cardinal fun ‘n’ frolic. I’ve never seen cardinals playing in a sprinkler before, and it gave us a good belly laugh! Pa was divebombing the sprinkler, Ma was very daintily ruffling (and giving a little shakey shake) of her tail feathers in the shower. It was quite a sight!
Want to see some of the fun?
As for me and my crew, we hope you have a warm & happy memory filled Memorial Day, I’m workin’ over here, illustrations – project for the Pre-K graduation ceremonies (a stick your face through the hole type painting on wood), and then we’ve got yardwork to do!
Maybe I’ll take a day off later this week?! One can hope, right?!
Enjoy the day!

we had our may holiday last weekend and the weather pretty much sucked, it’s been beautiful this past weekend, actually, maybe even a little too hot. i just came in from watering the garden as well, but i think our birds our hidden away from the heat.
I’ve been enjoying all the birds in our backyard lately…..they are fun to watch!
Love your photos of the cardinals….they seem to love the sprinkler! 😆
Have a fun, safe, and happy holiday! We are resting from a very busy week!! :cheerful:
They’re gorgeous! When it gets really dry here I’ll water by hand, and the Mockingbirds do the same thing. It’s a hoot. 😀
Happy Memorial Day!
Now if I could only play in the sprinkler! 😆
That looks like loads of fun..for birds AND for people :jester:
These pictures are incredible. I so want a new camera!! 😉
I love it! What an unexpected treat! I guess that’s motivation to water the flowers eh?
That would have been so lovely to see for real. I hate gardening, but I would do it to be able to attract birds in. They’re so interesting and beautiful.
How funny!! I was watching a few cardinals last night.
