It’s yardwork day for dear old Dad, I just wondered how I might be able to capture burning leaves. Now I know.

I always have had a pension for getting mesmerized by fire. It is relaxing somehow. The sounds a fire makes in the fireplace can put me to sleep in no time!:lazy:

Wow, what an awesome pic. I like the progression of the fire…the first layer has the smouldering fire, second layer smoke and the blazing fire in the background. So cool. I really like that picture.

Now that is something I miss. Well, maybe not the raking them up, but the jumping in the pile and later burning them up.

Here in my part of Texas, except for my flowerbeds, the leaves fall off and blow away in the wind we have. Secondly we have burn bans most years, this year included. SO any leaves that stick around end up as compost.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

That would make an awesome poster…a really big one, too. It’s “Autumn.” 🙂

    Heck, I’d buy it.

I’d sell it, too, if you want a print – I can go up to 13×19 (12×16 is a standard frame size), if you want one just let me know, I’ll add it to my print shop.

we rake here, but the city comes by and vacuums them up to make compost, no fires allowed.

Annie, I’ve got that wicked 12x optical zoom. I was about 8-10 feet from the fire, so nothin’ melted. I have another amazing photo from yesterday too – I’ll pop that up here tomorrow.
