WordPress 2.2 is out!
This has been in the works for some time, it boasts a ton of new features and fixes. If you’re powered by WordPress, you will want this upgrade – but I highly suggest giving it a couple of weeks for the dust to settle first.
If you’re still on blogger – check out this new function:
A new Blogger importer that is able to handle the latest version of Google’s Blogger product and seamlessly import posts and comments without any user interaction beyond entering your login.

I just saw this, but won’t be upgrading until it shows up in my Fantastico next week. What, you thought I did it by hand? :rofl:
But… does this mean we don’t need the widgets plugin now?
Does blogs-about do upgrades or is that something I have to do. I usually resist as it always takes way more time than they say. Plus, I get all comfy w. the old version and new one comes out I have to get used to all over again. LOL!
Pam: Widgets are built into this version – and from what I can tell, there’s also a user defined thumbnailer, too! (Woot!) Good idea to wait until it’s available in Fantastico – most often it’s not added until it’s good and stable.
Nancy: There are three ways to go about an upgrade – do it yourself through FTP, do it yourself through Fantastico (in your cpanel), or have your host (or someone) upgrade it for you. Thankfully – that latest several WordPress upgrades haven’t been drastic enough to make your head spin, rather they’ve been much needed enchancements and improvements.

Pam – there’s nothing ugly about not being surprised if there’s a quick update released! I would expect it within the first couple of weeks, hopefully it’s just minor stuff.
I know a couple of folks who have upgraded without any problems. That’s great news!

I’m always nervous when it comes time to upgrade. Especially when it come to my private posts plug in. Can’t have that sucker fail me! :scare:
I missed this new version completely. Glad I peeked over here to find out! I will have to put the upgrade on my plate for next weekend! It is never hard to do just time consuming and what isn’t these days! Thanks for the update!
