I photographed this house finch (not to be confused with a purple finch, which looks pretty much identical, so it’s beyond me if I’ve identified him correctly or not), he and his striped ladyfriend were feeding on the thistle socks. (Yes I put the feeders back up when I saw the goldfinch, I couldn’t stop myself!) I had so many good shots of this guy it was hard to pick one, so I let the monkey do it.
(Yes, I’ll be painting both of ’em, I think!)
We made some steak fajitas (easy recipe forthcoming), some nachos, and we invited Ben & Jerry over after dinner. It was a nice spring day, I can’t wait for more of them!
We’ll spend a good chunk of the day outside again today. It’s cooler, of course, and I hear it’s supposed to snow tomorrow. I’ll be taking advantage of the mini-spring (tease) as long as it sticks around.
How’s the weather by you? Got a few spare bedrooms, say, four of ’em? Or a spare house to rent out?
If you have the right temp, we just may show up at your place.

It has been warm here, too. Near 60, but we are about to get that snow that is going to hit you tomorrow. You didn’t get any of those terrible storms that they had there last night? I know it was south and east of you, but I was wondering if maybe you got the back side or something.
I am off to work. Have a good day!
sounds like a great day! I’ve been packing boxes in the garage where it is a nippy 50 but perfect when you are sweaty and dusty. It’s all frosted over every morning but nice and melty by 10. Spring is here!
Excellent pic, you even have the eye highlights!
Hey I like the idea of the Google search thing I might just do it :yahoo:
no spare rooms here leanne, sorry! in fact we cold do with another one ourselves.
I don’t think you would want to visit us here at the moment anyway! Its a bit…ummm…cold and white. Teagan liked it though…pic on my blog. 🙂

gah! he’s gorgeous!! the weather here in bama was a balmy 80 degrees today!! however david woke up to 2 inches of snow back home :jawdrop:
It’s supposed to be in the mid 80’s today :::turning on the A/C:::::
What a GORGEOUS Picture Leanne…I love that you were able to get so close and he is ‘in focus’! Here it has been very very cold…(I mean for here…lol) I’m hoping it will start to warm up again, and soon, please! :yahoo:
So much turmoil about the birds, to feed or not to feed? I’ve never fed the birds because of the cat, but we do feed the squirrels. They are fun to watch and they do drive my dog crazy. If they get too close he’s the one that runs away which is funny to see. The 100lb dog scared of a maybe 6lb squirrel. It’s been snowy here a little this week, but today it will melt the sun is out and shining already. March is the snowiest month here, but I can’t complain because the last week of Feb I was wearing my capris and sandals and it was in the 70’s the whole week and we rode our bikes almost every weekend in Jan. Our spare bedroom will be ready for you this summer! Hugs, clara
