Lurk: to read messages on an internet discussion forum (as a newsgroup or chatroom) without contributing. Even M-W has amended it’s definition of Lurk to include something specific to the WWW. Isn’t that cute? I thought so.
Well now that I have your attention (I think it was the smiley paper plate that sucked you right in, wasn’t it?) you may as well know that I know you’re here. I can see you right through these little black dots I call my eyes (pretend I’m the plate – just work wth me). You stop by, day after day – and once in a while you’ll say something sweet that makes me smile (see? I’m smiling. I do that occasionally.), and then you disappear for days or weeks on end. And I miss you. I really do.
What does that leave me with? A sad smiley plate. That’s what. And how pathetic is a sad smiley plate? Very.
So please, I’m begging you now, give me something to look back on and smile about – the good old day when you commented, just that simple “HI” and little wavey smiley guy that made me grin. Then you can just click away and when you return next time, feel free to resume lurking. I won’t bug you until this time next year. I swear.
Also, if the results of this apparently mild-mannered comment-whoring experiment are totally embarassing, I am going to go pout and hide my blog under my bed or in the back of my closet. (just a little fyi.)
P.S. on an art related note, I was asked by a Windows Vista team member (yeah! seriously!) to enter something into this new Windows Vista WOW experiment-slash-contest. So I did. You can go browse, or just go directly to my contribution and vote on how many stars you think it should get.

De-lurking, de-lurking, de-lurking, de-lurking. What a fun word to say! LOL.
Ok, doing my part to end the war on Lurking. Although, Is it acceptable to be a part-time lurker?
I swear almost everytime I peruse your blog my 3 year old has an uncanny sense of just knowing that I am paying attention to something really cool other than him! What used to be just yelling “Mommy, mommy, mommy!” has resorted to saying that AND pulling on my arm to pull me AWAY from the computer!
P.S. LUV the works in progress! You are rockin’ woman!
P.S.S. I remember Kilroy!

de-lurking status enabled…. but then, I was never very good at keeping my mouth shut;)
Love the peacock! Wouldn’t that be cool if they picked it to use with Windows Vista? Make them pay royalties! LOL
Are you talking to ME???? 😮
5 stars, baby!
It is so fun to be lurker, and yet not so fun to be lurked.
So here’s delurking at you, kid.
I’m saying “Hi”, even though I’m not a lurker. 🙂
I stop by at least every few days but stinkin’ kid is *always* here banging on the keyboard 🙂 I’m afraid if I comment it’ll look like this:

Loves to my favorite artist ever!
:meow: Me, lurk? Never! :meow:
Aah I’m feeling a little better now. Except there’s like 100 more of you who totally skipped this post and are still staring at all the pretty pictures.
:raspberry:
:cheerful: Hello there! This is my first visit to your blog so, I guess I’m not really a lurker since I left a coment, right? Yeah!!
When I visit I always leave a comment! At least I am pretty sure I do. I just don’t visit every day!
