Our hummingbirds are back! This is a female ruby throated hummingbird. They’ve been around for over a week, but they’re still really skittish around me and my camera. This is the best shot I’ve been able to get so far with my upgraded camera – by the end of the summer I should have at least a dozen great shots of them, I’m a persistent little chickey momma.

Nice pic! I tried to get hummingbird pics when I was in New Mexico a few years ago. It’s hard!
There’s something to be said about tripods and shutter remotes. I wish I had that daggone remote! It’s hard to stand still holding that camera long enough for them to feel like I’m not threatening. :beret:
What a pretty feeder! You are a lot more patient than I am, I could never stand still for that long. 😉
Wow! What a lovely photo.
Our hummingbirds are here, too.
That is a great photo. You got the wings, perfectly. Upgraded camera means…. what?
That is awesome! I’m trying to get some..so far, no luck!
Oh, I love the hummers. Mine have been back for over a month. It was darn cold out one morning, and one buzzed my face to remind me it was time to put out the feeder. If they don’t like what is in it, they come and hover near me. Great picture!
I like the photo. Here is a video from a site I recently found. Photos are hard but I am sure getting this thing was even harder. I guess that can be the next challenge after you get the picture.
