There’s nothing better than a bouquet of fresh flowers cut from your own garden. My BFF sent me this gorgeous vase for Christmas that I was very excited to use for the first time with this arrangement. I shot this in the late afternoon, the sunlight was bouncing off the neighbors window into our family room giving them a really cool shutter pattern.
Last night I looked over at them and they caught my eye, the light from the lamp making them glow, bringing out the femininity of the petals and they had a bit of a romantic mood.
I thought you might enjoy a few shots from my late night tulip admiration. I was experimenting a bit with my cameras shutter speed and aperture. Usually I just leave it on auto, but the lighting made me want to try for something a little different.

Tulips are one of my favorites-their season just doesn’t last long enough. I love the pictures-very beautiful. All your playing around worked!
Aren’t they GORGEOUS!! I can certainly understand how they ‘caught your eye’.
So… would you mind if I use your photos to practice using watercolors?
Gorgeous…all of them!
Those are beautiful! Thanks for letting up enjoy the beauty too! You truely are amazing!
Tipper – I had planted a full spring worth of bulbs that are supposed to give me 3-4 months worth of tulips – but the squirrels had other plans for my bulbs. I don’t know where half of them went!
:brickwall: :squirrel:
Crusty – I’d love to see you watercolor one of my tulips, thank you for asking!
Thanks, June! (Need to remember to fiddle more.)
Gorgeous!! Love the lighting!!
Man, those are gorgeous! I never really thought much about tulips until I came up here to North Carolina for college and they are EVERYWHERE! Now they always make me think of North Carolina – I love them!
soooooooooooooo pretty. :flower:
Beautiful! I’ve loved tulips ever since I was a little girl…!
Love your tulips! Love your pictures!
one of these days I need to sit down and figure out how the manual settings on my camera work…lol I’ve just left it on Auto since I got it. Monday we were at a place that would have been very cool in B/W but I don’t know how to do that with the camera…I’m pretty sure I can do it with the prints though.
Those are so beautiful! Tulips are my favorite flowers.
The third photo of the tulips without the vase with the copyright on the opposite side of the rest, will it to me? 😉
They are all beautiful, Leanne, and I love the lighting on the last one, but I would save up my money for that third one. It is gorgeous!
Tulips are my favorite flower.
Beautiful tulips, beautiful photography! I love the way you captured the lighting. Don’t you just wish they lasted just a tad bit longer and the rabbits didn’t like them so much? Just georgeous, like you! Hugs, clara
These are gorgeous!
Marcia, thank you so much! I’ll be adding a few of these to my shop as soon as I get it upgraded and get my prints in there. I’ll post about that when it’s ready to roll! 🙂
