I’m working on this graphite portrait for a client for Christmas – he’s a handsome fella, isn’t he? This shot was taken on his wedding day, such a warm loving look on his face – of course he was sharing that look with his bride!
So far I’ve lightly penciled in his features and just started working on his hair. I’ll post more photos as I progress.
Looks wonderful so far! I have about 8 portraits that I am dying to share on my blog etc…but they are for Christmas gifts my clients are giving. It is probably overly cautious, but I don’t share them anywhere until after Christmas, in case someone who knows the gift recipient might see it, and the surprise would be ruined.
I hear you, Darla. I typically clear it with my clients beforehand – but over the years, not even one client has minded that I publish the progress. Most even end up gifting early!

I think it looks great right now!
I think this is the first two-legged portrait I’ve seen…at least that I can remember. Looks like you’re off to a good start…
Wonderful! People — definitely right up your alley. can’t wait to see the whole thing done.

My brother does landscapes and says it takes a “special” talent to do portraits. This is looking great.
