    I painted today!

Meet Noodle, Lolo‘s kitty. Looks like I’m climbing back up on the wagon alright, I admit I was a little worried that I’d forgotten how to paint with oils. I’ve been working on graphic illustrations pretty much non-stop since July 29th!

Thanks, Lo, for taking such an inspiring photo of your baby!

    Psst…

    I’m here. I am.

I’ve been quiet ’cause I want to show you something really cool. I’ve been working, too. And bike-riding with the kiddos. It’s been a crazy weekend, actually, and I’m looking forward to my swim tomorrow morning.

You hafta wait though for the other stuff, just one more day.

    I think you’ll like it.

    Go Now.

MommaK over at Petroville thinks she’s a bad mom. I beg to differ. I’ll share my story to make her feel better, and to prove to you all that I’m not perfect. Once and for all.

    Here’s how my story goes:

We (me, with my girls in the back seat) were on our way home from McD’s, because I do so enjoy their yummy nutritious food. Our McD’s is located on a frontage road near an intersection where there is a wreck every. single. day. I am terrified of that intersection.

So. We’re sitting at the frontage road to turn left into traffic, about 75 feet from the cursed intersection. A Ford Explorer with tinted windows pulls up beside me on my right, and of course now I must wait until he goes before I can edge out any further.

I’m a cussing driver, I’m always talking to other drivers. Of course I say “Move your dam^ truck, I can’t see through it you dumba$$!”

My Chickeymonkey, at three years old, from her carseat in the back, says “Who’s the dumba$$, mom?” In her littlest and most curious voice.

Granted I wasn’t in front of a bunch of people, but still, just as embarrassing. I think.

    😛

    Perfect

This is the most perfect rose I think we’ve ever grown in our yard. I kept staring at it today! Not one petal has been infested by bugs, even the stem is perfect. This morning the petals were curled over just so, and I had to take photos of it! This one is way up there, it’s probably almost 7 feet off the ground on one of the two overgrown bushes we haven’t trimmed back this summer. I had to bend it forward to get a whiff, and it smells as perfect as it looks.

    🙂

    Four Questions Today!

    1. Do you consider yourself an “Art Connoisseur” or an “Appreciator”? (How often do you think about artwork as more than just something pretty and/or interesting?)

    2. Where do you find you purchase the things that hang on your walls most? (Target, eBay, Galleries, direct from the Artist?)

    3. Is there a difference to you between the following words: painting/picture; print/original?

    4. What process do you think of when you see or hear the term “painting” as it relates to art?

You guys are really giving me a lot to think about, thank you!!

    Three More Questions

Thank you so much for your answers to yesterday’s three questions, I have three more questions for you today!

    1. What kind of art usually touches you? (Subject & style)

    2. What medium are you drawn to? (Oil, pencil, ink, acrylic, soft pastel, etc.?)

    3. Do you prefer large, medium or small paintings?
