    POUNDS2GO.NET NOW OPEN!
I am absolutely, positively THRILLED to have thought-up, designed and launched Pounds2Go.NET – my new weight loss blog! I would be honored and tickled and very giggly if you would head on over there, check out the design (patting myself on the back – I rawked in the graphic design studio here, even photographing my very own scale for reference!), check out the purpose, and JOIN ME!

C’monnnn… everybody has a few Pounds2Go, right? Yeah. You know it.

I’ve got some tweaking to do, some plug-ins to add, some bells and whistles and things – but for right now, the first of the year, it’s time to launch!

If you would like to inquire about a custom illustration, blog or website design, please place your inquiry/order through E.Webscapes. Thank you!

    Angels & World Peace

This is my small (but growing) collection of Willow Tree angels. Each one was given to me on very special occasions from very, very special people in my life. The two sitting angels were gifts while my hubby was in Iraq, Serenity (on the left) is from Clara, one of my closest, dearest friends. The Angel of Protection is the Angel sitting with a bunny on the right, Paige sent her to me around the time my hubby was awarded a Purple Heart. Perfect, perfect timing I’d say!

This Christmas, I added a new one to my collection, the standing piece is titled “Mother and Daughter”. Catybug picked it out (all by herself, sniffle). I love it. So of course I set them on the piano and let the piano light give them a special glow, and lastnight before I went to bed the peaceful scene really touched me so I thought I’d share.

This next one is date stamped, an actual 35mm shot! Those are antiques now aren’t they? Well. I was be-bopping around Los Angeles at the time and saw this.

I thought it fit the World Peace theme, what do you think? No? Well. I thought Angels and Whirrled Peas would be a great New Years Eve wish to have for everyone. Especially that Angel of Protection if you’re going out tonight.

I hope you bring in the New Year with enthusiasm, optimism, love and peas in your heart. Stay cozy!

    How Old Sayings Go

My Mom tells me that according to her mom (my Gramma), when Doves are ever-present in your surroundings it is a sign of a peaceful home. Our Mourning Doves are huddled close together beneath our feeders, such a pretty thing to see when your eyes are still tired first thing in the morning.

I love that when I see these birds, I’m reminded of my Gramma. It got me curious about “how old sayings go…” Do you have a favorite old saying?

As a sidenote; you guys kicked some serious bloghopping bootie yesterday! My eyes fell out of my head at some point, and my hubby had to pick them up, clean ’em off and pop ’em back in for me. It was really overwhelming, and I hope I can get to everyone who left their links at some point this weekend! I’ll be coding the weight loss blog design today, and hopefully have it up tomorrow (crossing my fingers), and this weekend I’ll be finishing up Joey’s portrait.

    Friday Four

My Friday has to be better than My Thursday. First, our Cardinal playing peekaboo out back, he’s just candy. Totally unrelated to yesterdays events.

Second, I have a question. Let’s say you get a gift, from someone you didn’t expect a gift from, someone you never talk to or even see. Let’s say you dream about the gift and how not right it feels to even accept it. What do you do?

Third, while all of my good friends were off bloghopping the TT, I was combating a hacker in my system. Here’s how it went: Leanne visits first blog left in comments. She opens the window, reads Thirteen Things, in the process the open window has gone inactive for no apparent reason 3 times. She has to click the window to activate it, then scroll. Opening comments, the comment page also went inactive several times, as though something is running in the foreground, but nothing is running in the foreground. She begins typing a comment, and the words start looking lkei tish because the cursor is being magically repositioned to the space before the letter she just typed. Thinking the blog she was visiting was cursed, she tries another TT. Same thing.

As you can see from my list of Thirteen’s I visited yesterday, I didn’t get far before I was cussing my fool head off and running Panda Activescan Pro on all three of the puters on our network, spending hours cleaning and eliminating.

We refilled our feeders (better late than never!) and our birds are back with a vengence! Our Chickadee’s and a new breed – I’ll try to get a better photo of that one to show you.

We also have a new neighbor. Lastnight, my neighbor brought over her brand new baby …

    Topping it Off

Our Christmas Tree Topper. Every year since 1991, our tree topper has looked like this. The Star of Bethlehem, at the very top of the tree, as it should be. The bow, our symbol of the gifts bestowed upon baby Jesus upon His birth. The Angel, which I created from a craft kit at the inception of this tradition, is made of wire and fitted clear beads. She sits under the bow and announces the birth of Jesus.

I love our tree topper, because it’s not just a star, it’s not just an angel. It’s the combination and the symbolism that takes my breath away when I look at our tree.
