Life, Love, and Critters – of course!
It’s a two-entry morning! I wanted each of these pieces to have their own entry! Bailey’s completed scan is below, and now here’s the next piece I’ll be painting. These are a couple of lovely Bernese, Barney (left) and Bailey (right). Yes! Another Bailey girl! 🙂

I saw this link in another blog, you have to see this! It’s like a virtual haunted-house sortof a roller-coaster ride, aka Zoomquilt. Very cool graphic design in there!
I’m to the proofing stage, here’s how she looks now. The white is really white though, I will scan the painting when it’s dry. 🙂
You know, I’m not a bah-humbug girl. Usually. This year I would prefer to forego the entire Holiday season because it does not feel normal. Of course we’ve got the kiddos to consider, so this year is just for them. I took them down to the tree farm this morning and we picked a very nice little 3 1/2 foot high Christmas Tree, went to the store and let them pick out their very own decorations, and came home and set it up.
They did a beautiful job. I know that they will love it because they did it. We’ll string some popcorn and put it up in a little while.
The story with our tree topper is purely about Christ. We always put the star up at the highest point on the tree, of course that symbolizes the North star. We also add a really pretty Angel just below and in front of the star, to represent the Angel that announced Christ’s birth. We have an angel that I made out of crystal beads about 14 years ago, she’s up in the attic and I can’t be pulling heavy stuff down out of there until I’m 100% healed, and that wouldn’t happen until after Christmas. So, Caitlin chose this beautiful large semi-transparent ribbon to represent our Angel this year. they also selected small ornaments for the small tree, gold jingle bells and glass snowflakes.

She’s starting to show up now, see her in there? I’ll probably finish her up tomorrow. 🙂
I refined her eyes and nose tonight, they require the most layers of paint for three-dimensionality so I’ll let this dry tonight and while I’m working on her fur tomorrow I can enhance them more.
This pup really isn’t purple and mud, you know. This is that whole skin/bottom layer/dark shading thing I was telling you about. Gotta build from the bottom up! Tomorrow she’ll start looking more “normal”, and by the end you’ll wanna reach into your monitor and sqwish and love her to pieces! 😉

I paid dearly for my chocolate binge lastnight, I have NOT been able to get going today at all! So far today the only thing I accomplished was moving stuff around here in the blog. It took 7 hours just to publish these changes, so while it was lagging I kinda sorta fell asleep. Chocolate gives me a serious drunk/hungover feeling, I wish I would remember that BEFORE I eat it! :P~
So now you know, I’m a vanilla girl. If only they made vanilla brownies. haha!
I’ll paint tonight after the girls go to bed, having a nap under my belt I should be able to stay up reeeealy late! It will be about the same time as lastnight, around 8:30-8:45PM CST for those who want to check back then. I’ll update when I turn my webcam on!
