I wanted to get these sketched out this morning so that I can start painting them as soon as I finish the kitties.
The first one, Riley, I’ll be working on the beginning of next week (starting Sunday, I think), he’s 16×20 on gallerywrapped canvas. Of course I’ll be painting both of these in oil.
The second one is an 18×18 (upgraded to 24×24, there will be a new sketch) of two macaws, the left is Thor (red) and the right is Oz (green). I’ll be painting them the second half of the week, and once they’re finished I will break from painting to welcome my hubby home and take some time off. (Yea, right! He’s going to have to chain me to the couch!)
Sheeba is also a little tacky (her nose is wet, isn’t that just like a dog!), I managed to scan her as well. I also created a very cool wallpaper for Sheeba’s mom of her portrait!
(Karen, if you’d like a wallpaper, I will wait until all of your babies are done and make a nice collage for you!)
Barkley’s edges are still a little tacky. I had to scan him very carefully, as I couldn’t wait anymore to show you a better representation of his portrait!
I’ve just finished Sheeba’s portrait, she turned out stunning if I do say so myself! I’m going to be painting the sides to match the blanket with a black pinstripe (that’s pending the ok from mom). She’s going to be even more beautiful scanned, lots of details in her fur!
Here he is, um, all of him! Close your eyes! 😉
I painted the edges a really beautiful & rich brown that compliments his couch nicely. I’m guessing just the edges will take about 2 days to dry before I can even touch it to scan. I’ll get a scanned final image up with details in a few days then.
I’ll be painting for a while today, finishing up Barkley and then Sheeba. The webcam is on if you’d like to watch!
I modified the Mark-o-Meter since we had a little bit of chat time this morning. Aah I feel much better!
More work still to do on Barkley to finish him up. What’s finished right now is his ears/head/neck, the pads on his right hind leg, tail, and the base color for the skin underneath the fur on his hind legs. I’ll finish him up tomorrow.
I’m not sure if you’ll see as much of a difference here as I do, I’ve just finished up the blanket background & foreground. This will dry (they’re just glazes, so it won’t take long for this layer to dry) and then I can add start working on Sheeba!
