    Painting on Cam

    February

    2005

I’ll be painting for a while today, finishing up Barkley and then Sheeba. The webcam is on if you’d like to watch!

I modified the Mark-o-Meter since we had a little bit of chat time this morning. Aah I feel much better!

    Work in Progress #3 : Barkley (PG-13)

More work still to do on Barkley to finish him up. What’s finished right now is his ears/head/neck, the pads on his right hind leg, tail, and the base color for the skin underneath the fur on his hind legs. I’ll finish him up tomorrow.

Work in Progress #2 : Chelsea

What can I say. I’m still painting my portraits out of order. I was in the mood to work on Chelsea tonight!

She’s a black cat, really she is. This is just her underpainting, done a little differently again. I’m exploring a little bit with these new ones, they seem to be asking for something more, so I’m going to do my best to give it to them!

Work in Progress #3 : Sheeba

I’m not sure if you’ll see as much of a difference here as I do, I’ve just finished up the blanket background & foreground. This will dry (they’re just glazes, so it won’t take long for this layer to dry) and then I can add start working on Sheeba!

    Work in Progress #2 : Barkley (PG-13)

    2005

I just completed the background on Barkley’s portrait. There were just a few glazes needed to make it rich and warm, and give it the textured appearance it needed.

I’m getting there… in fact Sheeba’s underpainting is already dry, so I’ll get to work on finishing up her background tomorrow, then back with Barkley. I’m all over the place on my schedule now! 😛

Work in Progress #2 : Sheeba

    She feels much better now!

And with all of my underpaintings, I feel a strong obligation for anyone new that might see this to please not be frightened, this is an oil painting, an underpainting at that, and, well, go look at my gallery of completed paintings. I’m not finished until she looks like she’s sitting right in front of you. 😉

    Sheeba Underpainting in Progress

    2005

I’ll be working on Sheeba’s first coat of fur on cam today. When that’s finished, I’ll switch over to Barkley! Poor Sheeba looks kinda freaky all blank on her beauty-full blankie, and I can’t bear to see her looking at me with those big brown eyes pleading “paint me pleeeeease!” So, I shall paint her!

Studio cam link is in the left sidebar!

Work in Progress #1 : Sheeba

Here’s a partial underpainting on Sheeba. I’ve done something a little different with her eyes, a new “technique” you might call it, this is the underpainting mind you so her personality will come out when I finish that second layer.

I’m hoping to not get another wicked headache tonight, if I am able to avoid it I plan on finishing Barkley. Check back for the Studio Cam status (left sidebar) if you’d like to watch later tonight!

    He’s done!!!

THE MAN finished his LAST patrol, is back safe & sound and will start doing all those other odds & ends that will lead him to the plane and on his way home! Whew. I know for all of you guys it’s “gone by pretty fast”, but uh, no, it hasn’t! Not at my house! LOL I feel like I haven’t seen him in ten years. Alright, six. Months. But still, it’s a long time not to see your other half. And when I say “see”, I encompass every other sense as well.

    😉

Boy have I got some painting to do! I’m going to start this morning with Sheeba’s background, I’d like to have her blankie finished and fully dry when I start working on her furry lil self. You can get a refresher on all of the paintings in progress right here. You can also do a “search” in my lil search box and pull up all of the entries that refer to any particular pet and see the whole work in progress! (I just tried that yesterday. LOL)
