    House Finch
    Blue Jay #1, Collecting peanuts

Blue Jay #2, Waiting for more peanuts

Red Bellied Woodpecker #2, eating plain old variety bird seed

How passionate am I about our birds? Well, I was so excited to see the Red Bellied Woodpecker come back that I think I started to pee my pants. I didn’t want to put my camera down to go to the bathroom! Seriously. He is one impressive bird. Look at that beak! (Yes, I know, the better to peck holes with, m’dear!)

We also did some landscaping today, baby steps through the summer to get the house ready for market. Yardwork did wonders for my anxiety level today.

I’ll plant a few more things tomorrow morning and get back to work on building that harp.

Great pictures. I saw my first red cardinal this weekend. Right now the Red Brested Robins are filling the ground digging for grubs. We also have a friendly chipmunk that scurries around. I am trying to fugure out how to capture him. He is quick.

I know you love birds, but be careful about inviting those woodpeckers into your space. They will take up residence and poke holes in your siding and then go into your chimney and their pecking will echo through your whole house! They are beautiful, but quite pesky too! Hugs to you and yours! clara

UGH – you’re killin me… we still have snow on the ground and it will be at least another month before I can get out in the yard. The birds are coming out more and more as it’s getting up into the 30s and 40s now lol….. but I’m sooo anxious to get out in the grass.
