    And we’re off!

My first official E.Webscapes blog design is in the portfolio! See?

Here’s a direct screenshot of Reading Red Letters:

I had a lot of fun turning my vision into graphics – and my graphics into a blog! I’m also pretty excited to have it as my first design in my EW Portfolio, as well. Go on & check it out!

Also, FYI, any blog design inquiries and/or orders should go through E.Webscapes. Thanks!!

If you would like to inquire about a custom illustration, blog or website design, please place your inquiry/order through E.Webscapes. Thank you!

Were the words she said to me today. YEAHHH!!

You’re looking at the blog of the newest designer on staff for E.Webscapes, the most awesomest blog and website design service joint on the web!

Dang. I’m so excited. What a New Year so far, eh? Okay I’ll blog it in the TT Thursday, but you can go see the announcement now, too!!

… Leanne will remain our staff illustrator here at E.Webscapes – but as of today, her responsibilities and talents in her bag-o-tricks have increased! Through several months of working, learning and banging around inside the inner-workings of WordPress and CSS – Leanne was determined to learn how to use her creative skills to design blogs, as well. As an artist, the creative part is like second skin to her – – the technical, back-end work was a bit of a challenge. However, not SO much of a challenge that she couldn’t tackle it – because she has. As a result, we’ve hired her on as a designer for E.Webscapes, as well as an artist. Talk about crazy skills, man! …read it all here!

    POUNDS2GO.NET NOW OPEN!
I am absolutely, positively THRILLED to have thought-up, designed and launched Pounds2Go.NET – my new weight loss blog! I would be honored and tickled and very giggly if you would head on over there, check out the design (patting myself on the back – I rawked in the graphic design studio here, even photographing my very own scale for reference!), check out the purpose, and JOIN ME!

C’monnnn… everybody has a few Pounds2Go, right? Yeah. You know it.

I’ve got some tweaking to do, some plug-ins to add, some bells and whistles and things – but for right now, the first of the year, it’s time to launch!

If you would like to inquire about a custom illustration, blog or website design, please place your inquiry/order through E.Webscapes. Thank you!

This time I’ve given myself a facelift! It’s nice and Holiday’ish around here now, what do you think?

Not to worry, if you prefer my main skin, just go over to the “Themes” on the sidebar and select “Artist by Nature” (this one is called “Wrapping Paper”), and you’re all set!

    Well? ::spins around:: you likey?

    Custom Winter Blog Skin Design
    (Graphics, Layout & Plugins!)

Once Becky saw the design I did for MommaK’s blog, she headed my way to find out if I could winterize her place, too! Unfortunately, in the process, her server went down and she lost (gulp) all of her archives. Can you imagine?? The poor thing!!

Well, I finished the design, and now she’s starting from scratch – so please stop over and let her know how you like her new look!

(One skin closer to EW Designer status, WooHoo!)

To Design, or Not To Design?

    2005

For about 4 years now, I’ve been learning the in’s and out’s of HTML, tables, and graphic design. My own gallery has gone through a minimum of one revamp a year, sometimes two, and I am always changing things around in it. Same with my blog. Since I moved from Livejournal to Blogger to WordPress on my own domain, I’ve been teaching myself CSS. I’ve never been confident enough in CSS to do anything spectacular from scratch, so I learn here and there and use online tutorials as much as I can.

    I know my limits.

When I met Lisa, who runs EWebscapes, I was looking for someone to revamp my blog for me after spending hours of frustration elbow deep in code that would not listen to me. I knew I could handle the graphics, I knew exactly where I wanted everything to be, I could just not get it to go there. Thankfully, CSS code is her second language. And through Lisa, I’ve learned a ton. I’ve offered to design for her from day one, if she could hold my hand and teach me as I go, which is an impossibility – she is just too busy to teach. From day one though, she’s said that if I got a few (like a dozen or something, ouch) great designs under my belt that showed my flexibility and creativity, she would consider bringing me on board as a designer for EW. Right now, I do illustrate for her clients, but I don’t code the design.

Obviously I’ve not met those conditions, because, well, I’m a painter by trade. And I should be in my studio right now, but I’m here. Coding. And I’m having fun. A few more designs, I keep telling myself, and I will be adding “blog designer” and “graphic artist” to my dossier.

So, ya need a new WordPress blog design? 😉

Custom Winter-y Blog Skin for Petroville
(Graphics, Layout & Plugins – oh my!)

MommaK asked me if I could fix her up with something wintery for Petroville, and I was so excited! I was seeing a design in my head two seconds after she mentioned it. I love tinkering with code, in fact I’ve been trying to teach myself CSS over the past year so for me, having guinea pig WordPress blogs to fiddle with is like telling a kid they can have whatever they want from Toys R Us!

I was determined, I had it in my head and dangit it was going to BE. Right down to her Pink Snowboots. And now there it is. And my apologies to MommaK, I am her new stalker. I’m not really stalking her though, I’m stalking her code. OH how fun it was! I had a couple of hours (ahem.) with nothing to do, and she filled that void. Grazie, friend!

Now go look at it! It’s PRETTY! (I’d rather see snow on a blog than in my front yard. Any. Day.)
