Part of our overdone Christmas decorating includes this snowman. I wanted an acrylic ice-cube snowman but they were sold out. Bah! This guy is cute though, although he falls apart in a strong wind. Yep, his head just fell right off today. Poor fella.

Custom Winter-y Blog Skin for Petroville
(Graphics, Layout & Plugins – oh my!)

MommaK asked me if I could fix her up with something wintery for Petroville, and I was so excited! I was seeing a design in my head two seconds after she mentioned it. I love tinkering with code, in fact I’ve been trying to teach myself CSS over the past year so for me, having guinea pig WordPress blogs to fiddle with is like telling a kid they can have whatever they want from Toys R Us!

I was determined, I had it in my head and dangit it was going to BE. Right down to her Pink Snowboots. And now there it is. And my apologies to MommaK, I am her new stalker. I’m not really stalking her though, I’m stalking her code. OH how fun it was! I had a couple of hours (ahem.) with nothing to do, and she filled that void. Grazie, friend!

Now go look at it! It’s PRETTY! (I’d rather see snow on a blog than in my front yard. Any. Day.)

If you would like to inquire about a custom illustration, blog or website design, please place your inquiry/order through E.Webscapes. Thank you!

    Peace

So here’s my first “official” not as ticked-off post for the day, venting about some insults thrown my way by another artist. Not the reason I activated my blog security at all, but. This guy obviously doesn’t understand American Women with PMS.

To promote your website, there are several places on the web where you can put a banner up, join a “list”. I’m sure you’ve seen them, top sites lists are everywhere. This one is specifically designed for pet portraitists, so I thought why not? Unfortunately, as is with many of those lists, the ones who browse the list are the ones displayed on it. Not a big deal really, any eyes on my gallery are fine with me. 😉

    Martina

My hubby finally asked for a Christmas gifty this year! Can you guess what he wants? Hint: Martina McBride is going to be here in January. He has a big ol’ celebrity crush on her and her voice!

Boy got a couple of seriously good seats to that concert, Merry Christmas honey! Tickets went on sale yesterday so I snatched up two of them all sneaky like while he wasn’t looking. I’m a spoiler, he already knows. 😛

Funny thing, I had been listening to Martina (and that’s unusual for me) during the painting of this last commission. I tend to pick music and stick with it if it keeps me in my groove, and her self-titled CD did just that. Now we’ll see her in concert! Who’s the last person/group you saw in concert? I think the last one I went to was 5 years ago or so, we saw KennyG. I’m a party animal, I tell ya.

In other news, I’m completely exhausted. I finished J&L’s portrait yesterday (it’s drying), went back over to my neighbors (I’m glutton for punishment) and put a new floor down in a 20×15 room. That was the main accomplishment anyway. My hands look like “the claw”! I wish I could spray some WD40 on my knuckles, shoulders and knees – know what I mean?

Today is Gaudy Overdone Outdoor Christmas Lights and Decorations day. Hubby has truly missed Christmas the last couple of years and it’s his favorite holiday. This year he has promised to make our house a Tim the Tool Man Taylor replica! Yahoo! I can’t WAIT!

    /sarcasm.

Almost finished! Tomorrow I will refine just a few more areas. The photo is yicky, sorry, the painting is very wet. The scan is always the best representation of the finished piece, I won’t be able to do that until Sunday night/Monday morning.

You can view the work in progress in order by viewing the Still Life & People Paintings category. 🙂
